Two "Gentlemen" Easel Cards by Suzanne Crowther

Hi everyone its Suzanne back again with 2 more projects for Meg’s Garden.

This time I am using the “Gentleman’s collection” by designer Kerry-Jean Watson for Megs Garden.

This is a stunning collection of papers for men. For my first project I have made an easel card. I cut some card stock 12X6 score at 6 and 9 these are your fold lines. I used a burgundy colour I then cut some corrugated card to match that I fitted to the 3 inch section. I have used the mini card pack. I selected the paper with the colours to match my card stock showing a very elegant gentleman. I distressed the edges with two inks and using a black sharpie pen I highlighted the clock I also punched two holes in the top and added a piece of black chain. I then used some ferro and covered some chipboard cogs. I added the cogs to the front connecting them with another piece of chipboard then adding smaller cogs with a couple of braids in brass string was also added around the cogs.

For the inside I cut the “Gentleman’s Collection” Paper to 3x5 ½ inked the edges and card stock only 3 sides to form a pocket for the tag. I added a strip of paper using 3D mounts 1 cog and 1 oval chippy. I did use a rub on keys & lock and stamped I love you and memories. I then made a tag to match. I have tried to make the stunning paper a feature with the water marks and the aged look it was a pleasure to work with. You can find this paper collection at Megs Garden.
For my second project I have used the stunning paper from Megs Garden “The Gentleman’s Collection” Designed by Kerry-Jean Watson.

I really enjoyed making this card in particular simply because I basically just used these beautiful papers as with the other men’s card I did. With this card it is a twisted easel card I did use card stock in teal blue cut to 12x6 for the front of the card. I used 1 6x6 piece of brown card stock I then cut 2 gentleman’s collection papers to fit. I used 1 page from the mini kit with the gentleman sitting with his suitcase. I then took the other piece that was the same and fussy cut this image out I then inked the edges and used 3D dots to give a great 3d look. I did add a bit of blue ink to the suitcase. I cut some more paper from the piece I have fussy cut distressed them and added to the front of the card. To add a bit more dimension I also added rub on x 2.

For the inside I made a pocket I also cut a strip to match the front and a square off cut all have been inked and added to the front of the pocket. I fussy cut the compass out and used 3d dots to fit. I have used a wood chip suitcase coloured to match the card with a small rubons to the bottom right. With the tag I used the Gentleman’s collection and I cut out 1 small square picture on the cover of the pack to tie it all together these little square pictures are a great bonus to use.
Thank you for looking at my cards I hope you take this chance to pop over to Meg’s garden for some amazing papers and embellishments.
Thank You Suzanne.
