"Nana" - An English Rose Garden Layout by Sarah

Hi Meg's Garden friends! Sarah back with a new layout using the Gorgeous English Rose Garden collection. As soon as I saw these papers, I new I wanted to do a heritage layout using a photo of my grandmother with my sister and me and our children - three generations! I wanted the layout to look almost like a visit to Nana's house - with her favourite colour (green) as well as floral and lace accents.

I've embellished the layout with doilies and lots of flowers, lace and metal accents from Meg's Garden store as well as a few pieces from my stash.  I also added some extra sparkle to the layout using a stencil with white texture paste sprinkled with bronze glitter! Here are some close-ups and different angles of the layout!

Hi All 

Here is my take on the Sherlock album kit. Just to 

show you can covert it to a feminine look too.

I have used trinkets from the kit and

added a cheap gold frame. 

To make the pages I have adhered all of the journal pages

to a trimmed down manila folder. I have distressed the edges and

rubbed gold paint on the outsides, like the old

leather bound books.

I have then adhered all of the pages together on the manila

folder side. I have trimmed sturdy chipboard to fit the 

front and back and covered it with paper for the covers.

Then adhere a piece of ribbon over

the folded book before you affix 

the covers.

The Traveling Man's brother by Kerry-Jean Watson

Greetings to all the bloggers out there.

This dashing young man is my maternal grandfather, Adriaan 

Back 2006 mother and I arranged for a large suitcase of family photos to be sent to us in Perth, Australia.

I was amazed at many of the picture mostly because they showed my mother parents younger than what I knew them as. It was like being introduced to total strangers. My grandparents were well in to their late 70's early 80's by the time I was born, so I never saw them as children or young adults. My grandfather would be in his mid thirties in the portrait.

So for this layout I wanted to combine the new Correspondence Collection with some of the previous Meg's Garden collections and some French Writing Ephemera. The Hot Air Balloons were a nice add to the photo and the feel of the layout. 

Traveling Man by Kerry-Jean Watson

Hello Bloggers! Here is another heritage layout.

I wanted to play with my paper collection Correspondence but in a more masculine way. 

This is my Great Uncle who at a young age in the early 1900 travelled by ship from South Africa to New York. I was lucky enough to find information in genealogy archives about his movement around the USA. 

So in this layout I have used the awesome cogs and gears from Meg's Garden, along with some of Finnabair's trinkets from Prima which I LOVE.  I added clock faces from Old World Time transparency and a hot air balloon , with a then a few Vintage Advertisements over a Vintage Map.

Correspondence Heritage Layout

I have all these old photos of my maternal grandfather who was born in 1905. There aren't a lot of photos of him as a young boy but a lot of him as a young man. I just love this photo of him relaxing in a garden chair in a suit.

I used the Correspondence Collection as a base for the background and paper stack. I added some coloured texture paste and sprayed some watered down gesso over the background. There is some of the wondrous Dodo Vine Wire in the background which is awesome to use. I love using Finnabair Vintage Trinkets- Gears too I couldn't not passed including them. 

I added some Postmark Washi Tape  with some other washi tape I had on hand, along with some wood veneer clocks which were inked with some of Ranger's crackle accent. 

This layout will most certainly be added to my family album.
