Hello Paper Artists - February 2023

Welcome to my seriously NEW Vintage Art Product Line:

Stacked Ephemera & Collages M544

The latest Collection of Digital Papers M544 is totally new:

8 pages of serious Vintage Stacks & Collages. There are 4 on each 8.5x11” page - sizes vary a little but range approx.  4x5.5” - they can all be increased in size at printing  300dpi for high-quality printing, JPG format.

Ideas on How to Use Them:

Front of a card, journal, mini book, mixed media.

Page in an art journal, centerpiece, or a fold-out

Cut out pieces, halves, and quarters & use them elsewhere

Thread twine through & tie on the front

Use a paint canvas & build an art piece with/without  a background paper

Add a splash of color to continue with the project

When using on the front of a book, make sure that the theme, style & color tie in with the contents of the book since the cover makes a statement of what is inside the book.

All of the above ideas include foam mounts, paint, charms, and other ephemera, add an area within the piece to slice & add foam or part of a cotton ball to create texture & height.

Any of these ideas can easily be carried inside the art project to add to the art flow.

How tto make a Layered Journal

Hello Paper Artists

Sometimes an idea pops into your head. In this case what colour cardstock to use? Black seemed too stark & the moccha too much the same as the papers & the ephemera. Hence the idea to layer with both

This Journal uses the Papers & Cut & Create Ephemera from the Digital files at Etsy #20464 & #20470. The layering is done using the 5x7" background papers on both Black & Mocha cardstock; the majority of the ephemera are also done this way.

The layering creates a visually effective impact & also brings out the colours & highlights on the papers & ephemera used - more pizazz than the papers by themselves particularly with vintage background papers.

Enjoy watching the layering ideas.

Bye for now

Pastel Inspiration

Inspiration in Lace lived up to its beautiful name. So much inspiration in one collection.

A beautiful image of a wistful young lady from the Inspiration in Lace collection inspired this card. A heart border of pink bling, muted pastel flowers, a dainty ribbon, metal embellishment and sentiments complete this card.

Another inspirational image from the collection for this card. The background paper looked so real you could almost touch the lace! The die cut frame was bound in narrow ribbon giving a 3D effect. A beautiful cream embroidered ribbon, and toning pastel flowers in similar colours as the Cut & Create image, and some pearls finish the look.

Lavender Memories

Another two cards, in deeper tonal colours this time, using Inspiration in Lace collection.

A triptych panel of lavender. The base paper and three floral Cut & Create images, all from the beautiful new collection. A delicate square paper doily compliments the lace depicted in the base paper. Narrow lilac ribbon forms a border around the triptych panels, with each panel triple mounted.
A delicate bow, small paper flowers and feathers in a deep purple finish this eclectic card.

The beautiful lace paper from the collection was used as the formation of this card. The whimsical image of a young girl holding a rose was perfect to mount with several layers to feature and border with metal embellishment corners to finish the frame.
A cream ribbon runs down the side of the card with an exquisite length of embroidered leaves and flowers piece.
A sentiment suitable to the image plus a small hat pin and more embroidery was added to finish the card.

Springtime Lilacs

Hello Crafters,

Two of my favourite colours to create with are pinks and lilacs, and luckily for me, Meg's new Spring Flowers Collection uses this palette perfectly.

For a subtle, yet elegant look, I created this card featuring two papers from the collection - one a slightly bolder design, and the other delicate, but they pair together beautifully.

My centrepiece is cut from the ever versatile Cut & Create Ephemera sheets, and I have layered several for dimension and that extra hint of colour. They sit atop a die cut frame, with lace and a doily to finish the base.

I did not want to overwhelm the design, letting the vintage lady stand out on her own. I added the butterflies, cut from the ephemera and transparency sheets, and finally a flower to embellish. Simple yet stunning effect.

Hope you are all enjoying the springtime collection as much as I am!

Sherlock III: a New Case - Be as awesome as you can...

Sherlock III: a New Case
Be as awesome as you can.
I am popping in to show you my latest creation for Meg's Garden, using the NEW collection.

Using the Sherlock III, paper collection, I have created this layout of my nephew, Nathaniel.
I have tried to replicate the peeling paper with the brown kraft paper on the background.

I have used the layered papers from one of the background sheets as ephemera.

I really like the reflection of the owl in the water so I tried not to cover it.

I have used black enamel dots to repeat the black brad holding the sentiment tag.
BE AS AWESOME AS YOU CAN.

I hope you like what I have created today with products from Meg's Garden, follow the link to her website below for more of an idea of what she sells.

She's a Little Bit Vintage - Spring Pastels Collection

Hi Everyone and welcome to Meg’s Garden
Today I have another card to share with you, using the fabulous Spring Pastel’s Collection. I wanted to capture the essence of a small collection of vintage memorabilia.
megs-garden-remeber-3

I prepped the base card with a pretty piece of paper from the collection I have sponged and distressed all the edges before adhering them to the white base  card.  The postcard, the pretty lady and the ticket are all cut from the cutting sheets that come with the collection.  I added some pieces of lace across the curled piece to carry the colour theme throughout the card.  I also dyed a small piece of muslin to add underneath the photo. A small metal padlock and two flowers from Meg’s Garden accessories and some pink sequins finish the card.  I also fussy cut the ‘remember’ and added it to the base  after sponging the edges (see picture below).
Some photo’s of the inside of the card.

This paper is so pretty, so I added a few closeups.

I hope you like my card and please pop over to Meg’s Garden to see for yourself all the gorgeous products to spark your creative side.

Another Vintage Romantic Junk Journal for Meg's Garden

Hi everybody,

I believe that most of you love Roses.Me too,so I was really happy to create my projects using beautiful collection "Rose Quartz" from Meg's Garden shop. I am coming today share with you my second project out of this collection.Again I choosed make a journal but before I will show some pics and video I would like to share with you what interesting facts about Roses I just found on internet.
I always enjoy read about vintage things but what I didn't know before, that Vintage Roses also exist :D
One of those unique flowers is still alive. For more than 1000 years large rose bush covers the wall of the Cathedral of Hildesheim in Germany and other is rose fossil which was found in Colorado in the age of about 35 million years. That is really awesome, don't you think?
In nature, the genus Rosa has some 150 species spread throughout the Northern Hemisphere, from Holland to Mexico and North Africa. Although roses can come in a wide variety of colours, a “black rose” is not actually black. It is actually a very dark red.Different coloured roses are used to convey different feeling of passion and emotion. For instance,  red roses are used to show the people’s romance, love, and passion. However, if you want to show empathy, happiness, and familiar love, you can give yellow roses. To deliver the poetic romance and gentleness, delicate pink roses are used.....is lot of more amazing informations but  I believe it's enough for now.
It's time to show and share with you my Romantic journal...

I made a video with this journal as well if you are interested...

I hope you found some inspiration. If you need some more ideas what to create, just go to Meg's blog
