Denise shows us some projects she has taught

Hello Bloggers

'Thought it was about time I posted something on my blog it has been so neglected of late.
Finding myself not achieving as fast now days more like slow and steady to the finish line.
For my Birthday this year I received a photo tent I have been experimenting with it and my camera settings. As we are coming into winter very soon and the days will be gloomy I am thinking this will help me a lot once I get it right. So here are some photos I have taken of my last creations, using papers from Meg's Garden  the Damask Garden Collection.

These are projects which have been taught in class

Beautiful projects - well done Denise. Love the layers & fussy cutting. You have used your papers so well.
Bye for now

Treasured Memories by Sue Smyth

Hello Bloggers

Sue shows us one of her treasured memories today:

'Treasured Memories Layout
by Sue Smyth

When my daughter was younger she was happy to pose for the camera
for me, this is one of my favourite photos.
I could not resist creating a layout that reflected the colours and
feel of the photo.

I have altered the Mia flowers by, dry brushing the centres with gesso.
Allow to dry and then spray with Cross your heart glimmer mist.
Dry off with a heat gun.
Spray with a little spray adhesive and sprinkle with
white glitter..
I cannot live with out white glitter lol

I love to create a laced bodice look, I have used an die
that cut holes in a long strip, cut a large V in the paper and
adhere the strips to the edge.
Lace with thin ribbon, tie of in a bow.
Add scalloped lace or paper to the sides
and add a row of pearl strips over the join.
To alter the butterfly I have adhered the transparency to
white cardstock to intensify the colour.
Use large tape or jac paper to adhere, as
some glues will corrode the printed image.
Then fussy cut as normal.

To alter the Azalea flower, I have spritzed the flower with water,
add a drop of lemon glimmer mist with a pipette.
The wet flower will wick the colour from the centre.
When dry spray with spray adhesive and sprinkle with white glitter ...yes again !

Add a delicate tassel to the bottom of the laced bodice for
that rich historic look.

Imaginarium Chipboard
Wrought fence and Treasured Memories phrase
Happy Crafting '
What a colourful & beautiful layout - well done Sue & thank you so much for all the tips in your instructions.Love how you have coloured the flowers & added some glitter.

Hello Bloggers
Kerry-Jean continues using her papers:

I have many sheets of proof prints of portrait shoot my mother did as a young women, these are GREAT for scrapbooking.  The page I used for the background is one of my favourites of the Correspondence collection. I used Sage weave Cardstock for photos mats which just added another colour tone to the layout.

I used some of the fantastic Dodo Vine wire as well as some of Finnabair's Prima Market trinkets which I just love using here and there, the leaves especially. The flowers are these beautiful Silk & Organza Primula, the Small Rose Blue and Cream and White Gardenias.

This is another layout I did with those photos of my mother, I think she was pregnant with my older brother when these were taken but I am not sure. Again I have used  Finnabair's Prima Market trinkets with the leaves and metal embellishments and the Butterflies Transparencies. The flowers are a combination of the Small Blue Roses, Oatmeal Coloured Flowers and the Small Roses. The lace trim is Cotton Lace which is lovely and soft and works so well in the layout.

Two beautiful layouts - well done Kerry-Jean. Love the layers, touches of colour & the vintage trinkets. The addition of the blues & greens are perfect to lift the vintage.

Vintage Layout from Kerry-Jean

Hello Bloggers

It is only appropriate that we start the Correspondence Collection projects with one of the Designer's layout & Kerry-Jean explains:

"The Correspondence collection works really well with vintage photos.  The photo is of another distant Great Aunt, this time on my mother's side. My grandmother was the last born out of 9 children in 1904. This has to be one of my favourite layouts because of the colours.

I have used the Correspondence collection for the background and the tiles of paper in the background. The flowers used are a collection of Azaleas, Cream and White Gardenias and the Small Blue Paper Roses with the Copper Paper Leaves both medium and small.

As I have used those lovely blue roses I thought I would add some more of that turquoise to the layout by using the Blue Vintage Brads and then some gems down the right.  Behind the bird cage is a fantastic product I have been getting used to working with called Dodo Vine Wire. The clockface is also from one of Meg's Garden Elements papers called Old World Time.

I hope you like this layout as much as I do.'

Fabulous heritage LO - well done Kerry-Jean.  Love the way you have layered the papers & lace;  the touches of blue & copper are unique additions & work really well on the distressed papers.

A Birthday card from Margaret

Hello Bloggers
Margaret is here today to share her latest project using the Bike Cogs papers:

'Hello everyone and welcome to Meg's Garden.
Today I'd like to share a Birthday Card made with the Bike Cogs Mini Paper Pack.
These papers are awesome and absolutely perfect to create a card for my Grandson's Birthday as his favourite colours are green and black.

So, all the papers used are from this collection, I haven't mixed it with anything else at all.  I have added a bit of doodling and some of that mesh tape that is all the rage at the moment.  I've also lightly brushed some gesso here and there and did a bit of stamping as well.  The cogs border is from Scrapbookncraft and I've added some die cut cogs and gears as well.  Some were cut from black cardstock and some from brown.  Brushed them with Versacolor in Silver and green to give them a bit of a rustic look.

The card style is one I saw at Astrid Maclean's Blog and I've used it quite a bit since, I really love it as it gives you so much  scope for decorating.

Here you can see some of the crackle stamping.  Added some washi tape and wooden hinges  which were coloured with Versacolor 'Lapislazuli' and Kaisercraft 'Red gum'.

The clocks are from Meg's Garden.   I've simply layered them together with an eyelet.  You can also see I've placed some cogs in between the paper layers.

Just a closie of the cogs border ... the black and the white cogs peeking through underneath are all part of the pattern on the papers.

The inside is lined with the same papers and I've added some doodling here as well and brushed on some more gesso.  The quotes are die cuts

Did just a small amount of stencilling on the front of the pocket which was made to hold a small envelope and card.

The envelope will hold a gift voucher or perhaps some cash and the double fold card has a written sentiment inside.

The other inside flap also has some doodling and brushed gesso.

Full view of the inside ...

... and another full frontal view.
These papers are awesome and, although this card is obviously masculine, there are also designs  which could be used in a more feminine creation.  I loved working with them.
Thank you so much for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my Bike Cogs Birthday Card.

Love all the elements you chose; the touch of velvet is awesome & certainly does add a touch of femininity to the layout; love the clocks, gears & rusty additions. Who would have thought that you would have to raid a shed to finish a sublime layout - beautiful.  Love the little yellow rose on the LO.
