Memories Shared

Hi Ladies,

Isn't craft, whether it be scrapbooking pages or handmade cards, a wonderful way to create and share memories?

I think so, and the beautiful sentiments from Meg's new collection French Roses inspired this card.

I fell in love with the rose paper, so elegant and so perfect for any occasion. And roses just make everyone smile, too.
I used a long card, rather than a standard size card to capture the rose in full. I die cut the Memories sentiment and embellished just one corner, using ribbon, feathers and a fabric flower in tonal colours.

I gave one embellishment to the rose, a heart charm, and finished with pearl bling before mounting the sentiment to the card.

Inside, I placed an insert with the second sentiment that inspired this card. I used one design paper from the Spring Flowers Collection and die cuts for the journal area.

Both these sentiments can be found on the Cut & Create pages in Meg's Garden new collection French Roses, be sure to wander through the shop today - as I know they will inspire you, too!

Your Biggest Fan

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying Meg's new collection, French Roses. My card today features two beautiful images from the Cut & Create pages included within the collection.

With lace a printed layering feature over the young lady image, I used lace from Meg's shop, gathered, and placed around the Cut & Create fan, adding texture and making an embellishment that coordinates and compliments at the same time.
Wanting to keep her mystique, I placed the fan slightly over her face, almost as if she were holding it.

I kept the background simple, using another paper from the French Roses collection.
From a border die,I cut several edges and overlapped them creating a different style border again, to accentuate and frame the lovely lady image.

Peal bling, and a fabric flower finish the card off, making it perfect for any occasion and recipient. The beautiful colouring that features in French Roses makes it easy to coordinate suitable embellishments and enhance the imagery.

Have fun creating, there's always something new in Meg's Garden to inspire you!

My mum by Meredith Hilly

Happy mothers day to all the mothers out there. I was inspired by
Megs papers to make my mum more then just a card but an explosion box for her.
I made a plaque with one of megs silicon moulds. It was so easy. I left it white to complement the green.

When you take the lid of two sides open to show the tea cup and mothers day message.

I fussy cut out butterflies and added glitter. While they where drying I lifted there wings to dry so they looked as though they where landing on a flower.

The tea cup represented all the afternoon teas we have together.

I had so much fun making this project.
Thanks for dropping by.

Gift box by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. My project is a gift box. I enjoyed using megs papers with lime and blue  cardstock . These colours complimented the papers beautifully.

I used a feather from one of my Guinea Fowls. The black and white was perfect. I glued the quill on the paper with the feather next to the writing on it.

The vintage beauties strips from megs garden are perfect  addition for a touch of class. I framed them on black cardstock to match the tartan ribbon.

When you lift the lid of the box , it opens with four small trays  ready for you to put things in. Small presents , chocolates etc.

Thanks for having a look at my gift box. And I hope you find some ideas to help you create.

A pretty little letter box set by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. I would love to share with you a pretty little letter box I made.
I transformed a empty chocolate box into a useful gift for Christmas.
I am a bit old fashioned and still love to send and receive snail mail letters.

The Spring Pastel papers from Megs Garden work really well with the silver and purple colours I chose. Don't be afraid to cut metal embellishments to suit you project. At the top of my box is the word Post Card and I cut a metal embellishment in half and stuck it either side of the words.

I added a little handle to the box which makes it easier to open.

I just love how these flowers pop when teamed with the silver bracken fern I spray painted.

Inside the letter box there are a few things I made for letter writing.

A pen with a little bottle of Dandelion seeds. The Dandelion seeds are there to remind you that you will always have time to write a letter.

When you open the little envelope I have placed some stamps ready for you to mail your letters.

I made three cards with envelopes to be used.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my letter box set.

A Ladies Travel Journal by Meredith Hilly

My niece is going on an over seas trip soon and I wanted her to record her adventure. So I made her a ladies travel journal using these amazing papers from Megs Garden.

When I made the book I kept in mind that this journal was going to be pulled in and out of luggage so I had to keep a plastic cover on it to protect it.

I used lace on the spine of it and washi tape to bind it together.

The following photos are the pages in the journal ready for my niece to write or attach travel notes.

In between the pages I hung little travel embellishments  on the Italian paper clips from Megs Garden.

Using stamps from Megs garden I stamped on the inside front and back cover .

Some times I find it difficult to get what I have thought of. So I make it. The particular album size I wanted had to be made. I bought a A4 two ring book and measured the size I wanted. After drawing on the white plastic I cut it using good scissors as it is strong cardboard.

The cardboard from the front cover I decorated and slid in back under the clear plastic cover.

I cut the third white plastic page in half to made a pocket and using washi tape I bound the three front pages together.
I slide the spine out and decorated it then slid it back in. Again using washi tape to seal the edges.
Using the same method as the front cover I completed the back cover.
To make a title plaque I cut  a strip of tin and borrowed the hubbies letter punches.

I framed the plaque on black cardstock.

I was really happy how this journal turned out and with the beautiful papers of Rose Quartz its such a nice ladies project.
Thanks for looking at my journal.
