Butterflies in Pink & Green

Who doesn't love butterflies? Using Meg's Garden Pink and Green collection, I have created another two cards, ready to fly.

The base is a delicate green damask design, with distressed edges and inked in a toning colour.

I selected two butterfly images from this beautiful collection, and cut around with decorative scissors to look like postage stamps, and mounted on cardstock using the same effect.

A piece of muslin is placed between the two butterflies, with a delicate pink paper flower, sheer ribbon bow and a small satin bow completing the look.

This card could quite easily be used for a birthday, thinking of you, or get well soon sentiments.

With Mother's Day in mind, I used similar techniques and design for this card, but in pinks. The muted base again sets the perfect start for embellishments.

Delicate pink embroidered ribbon is placed at opposite edges to the butterflies, add in feathers, a pastel pink flower, satin edged ribbon and fancy bling complete this pretty in pink look.

All available now in Meg's Garden!

Shades of Green cards by Marina Gridasova

Hello Meg's Garden fans!
Marina is here today and I want to share with you my new cards with  Shades of Green collection.  I adore this soft and fresh collecton with lots of different elements on the ephemera sheets. You could fussy-cut all of them and get a lot of beautiful embellishments and layers for your projects!
So here is the first one card

 some close-ups:

 the second one:

I want to create romantic works with floral accents, so used fussy-cutted elements. Also I want to use the butterflies, but because they were big for my cards, I used them as one more layer for the title. I love to create layered works, so always added a lot of them - and also because you find a lot of pretty details on ephemera sheets )))))

Hope you were enjoyed and inspired by my works and this collection and will create your own The Shades of Green projects!
Have a great day,
Marina.

Blue Butterfly Mini Album

Hello everyone, and welcome to Meg's Garden blog. I am so glad you could drop by for a visit. Today, I am sharing a quick and cute mini album, created with the Watercolour in Blues A4 papers. This is my go-to album - it is quick to create, simple to decorate, and very versatile.

Here is a close-up of the cover. It has a band that slides on and off, which keeps the album closed when not in use. I have added thin white lace to both the top and bottom edges of the album for extra texture. And I have finished the paper edges with a pop of bright blue ink.

This close-up of the band shows how I have layered items to create a focal point in the centre. I have die cut paper doilies in two sizes, added blue ink and glitter, added a die cut butterfly, roses, leaves, and a cut out butterfly from the Watercolours In Blue Cut And Create papers. I have finished with a pink rose bud for a little colour contrast. The band itself has been created with cardstock and a paper lace strip.

Slide off the band, and the album can be opened.

Here is the view of the album when it is first opened. I have allowed two pages for photos, and added a mini-envelope to add mementos or extra photos.

Isn't this just the cutest little pocket? Because this album folds up so snugly, embellishments within must be kept flat. A mini album allows you to add extra items without too much bulk.

This is the album fully opened. There is a total of 5 spaces for photos, and four pages for adding extra details and/or journalling.

Maybe add a few details of your favourite things that happened the day the photographs were taken?

Or maybe write a little message to the receiver of the album? Your options are limitless.

Thank-you for joining me today. It has been a pleasure to be able to share my creation with you. If you have any questions in regards to this album, please don't hesitate to ask.
I am always happy to help.

TeaTray Water Colour in Blue by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying Megs "Water Colour in Blue" collection.
My mum enjoys having me and my kids to tea parties. She cooks up a storm and we use tea cups and saucers. When the weather is warmer we go outside to enjoy her garden. The new paper collection gave me a great idea to make a tea tray for her to carry the cakes and cups.
First I found a photo frame which had a nice big border and was about 500mmx400mm.

I then bought two decorative handles. So there was no chance of me breaking the glass while drilling and screwing the handles in I took the frame apart and put the glass aside.

I decorated the black cardboard which came with the frame and then put the glass back in. Using liquid nails I glued the back together and taped over this with a heavy duty material tape to give it strength.

To finish the tray of I decorated one corner with flowers and ivy leaves. I added glitter to the flowers to give them depth of colour.

I was very happy how this tray turned out. The glass makes it easy to wipe any spills.
Have a go at making your own tray. There are many colour papers at Megs Garden to choose from.

Upcycled gift bag with Rose Quartz

Hello again, Kelly-ann Oosterbeek here today with an upcycled gift bag ...

this project is a very quick and easy one, and is super handy for getting together
a really special gift bag for a really special occasion ... and best of all,
for the base you can just use any old gift bag you may have been hanging onto :)

So this is what it looks like after I've attacked it with the Rose Quartz Collection...

And this is how we got there ...

This was the gift bag I started with ... it was made of nice thick cardboard
so perfect to support all the embellishments I wanted to stick onto it :)

Next I cut out a cardstock base to both sides...

Then I added lace and washi tape to the edges...

Then I started adding the Rose Quatrz papers and some flowers ...

Then I just kept going with the embellishments from the Rose Quartz Collection...

I finished with some bling and butterflies and
stuck the two sides to the sides of the gift bag using some really study glue.

And that's it! :)

Thanks for popping by the blog today.

Cheers from Kelly Ann xo
