My Nature Inspired Journal

 Hello everyone & welcome.

Today I have a design team post to share with you. I have created a journal with the latest patterned papers from Meg's Garden Etsy Store.

The paper collection that I have used is called A Walk with Nature Journal #498 & A Walk with Nature Cut & Creates #499 .

So whether you are a nature lover or not these delightful papers are a must have for any journal maker.
The papers come in earthy shades of cream, rust, orange, brown and touches of green perfect for a vintage style journal creation.
The cut & create sheets have beautiful images that are perfect as ephemera pieces to cut out and use in tuck spots & pockets or to embellish a page or the cover of your journal.

These papers are also ideal for cards or off the page projects.

My journal measures: 14.5cm x 19cm. It contains one signature with 66 pages & has a soft cover.

I have created a flip through video:
I hope you find some inspiration in my latest creation.

Until next time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Summer Garden Journal

Hello everyone & welcome.

Today I would love to share with you my Summer Garden Journal.

I have used the following collection of digital papers called Summer Garden the cut & create ephemera papers and Summer Garden 10 x 7 inch journal & card making papers.
These plus lots of wonderful digital designs are available from Meg's Garden Papercraft Etsy store.
https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/MegsGardenPapercraft

My journal measures 14 x 19 x 7 cm. The main colour scheme is in greens, whites, black, plus splashes of colour from the cut & create images.

The cover is made from chipboard, that has been covered with black paper. I then decorated the cover with a Summer Garden journal sheet, lace, flowers, pearl dots, gold paint & green wax.

I have added eyelets to the front & back covers & seam binding for the closure.

Distress ink has been added to the edges of all of the patterned papers, ephemera and fussy cut pieces throughout the journal.

There is 30 pages in this journal that includes the inside front and back covers.

You will find lots of pockets and tuck spots inside.

Here is a video of my completed journal.

Mini Vintage Christmas Junk Journal

Hello everyone & welcome,

Today I would like to share with you my Christmas Vintage style Junk Journal.
I have created this journal with the latest Christmas paper collection called Elegant Damask
Christmas available from Meg's Garden online store.

The cover for this mini journal is made from a paper lunch bag that has been folded in half. My journal measures 4"x 4 ¾". The papers that I have chosen to embellish my book are from the Elegant Damask Christmas cut & create ephemera sheets.
I have decorated the cover with gesso, inka gold, ephemera pieces, glossy accents, sequins, metal hardware, hand dyed lace and organza ribbon.

There is only one signature and it contains 42 pages of various sizes. There are lots of places for writing, maybe a photo or two or for adding more embellishments.

Until next time,
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Vintage Journal Cards - Flowers

Hello bloggers
Bec Jefferis here.  I wanted to pop in and share a card I made this weekend, using Meg's Garden NEW Journal cards - floral designs.
These are absolutely stunning floral designs with so much versatility to be used on cards, in happy mail, and as part of your journal.
I have made this card for a dear friend's birthday, in fact she was the one that gave me the dimensions of this unique card.
Of which you'll understand when you see the pictures and video below...
I used the blue tits journal card on the front with the blue watercolour background paper, that come with the card kits in Meg's NEW products.
I used navy watercolour paints to add some splatter dots and used crafters grass to nestle the image on the front of card.
I backed the journal card with a navy card stock and scratched the edges to create added dimension.
This is what the inside of the card looks like...
I used four more of the floral journal cards to create the pop up display.
They sit so well together backed with the pink watercolour background paper.  I used a rub on birthday sentiment to finish the card.
I have made a video of the card opening for you to see the full effect.
I hope you have enjoyed some different inspiration on the blog today.  Hope you get the chance to use your Meg's Garden products in a similar way.
Have a wonderful day
Take Care
Bec

Captain's Journal

Hello, everyone!

Veronika here to share my work with Sherlock III - A New Case Collection from Meg's Garden. I made a Journal book, wich was inspired by series of historical novels by C. S. Forester about Horatio Hornblower, English captain during Napoleonic Wars. The author loved to describe all details, so now I can share with you all my love to details in paper journal and new collection from Meg's Garden.

Please check this fantastic Sherlock III - A New Case Collection
here in Meg's Garden.

Best regards,
Veronika

Art Journal Album

Hello everyone,
Leanne here to share my latest project an Art Journal Album. I have created this Album from scratch using Alchemy 101 patterned papers & black cardstock. I have kept this project fairly simple. Each page is also a large pocket allowing me to tuck away photos or art project pieces. My album measures 22 x 28.5cm. I have also left a couple of the pages blank, so I can add photos at a later date.

Until next time.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Two Simple Journals by Margaret Mifsud - Part #2

Hello sweet visitors and welcome to the Garden.  So nice of you to drop by.

So, this is part two of my 'Two Simple Journals' posts.
If you would like to take a look at Part#1, HERE is the link.

These are the two books I created using Megs Garden's lovely papers.
In this post I will share with you the booklet on the right .. my writer's Journal.  This is the little book I will use to practice my hand writing.  As I said in Part#1, I used to have a reasonably neat hand but, over the years, that has deteriorated quite badly so now I need to practice to get it back up to scratch.

The inspiration for this booklet came from Astrid Maclean of Astrid's Artistic Efforts.  Astrid, like me, loves to make all kinds of booklets and, lately, she has been working with the Eileen Hull die.  Unfortunately, I don't have that die so I had to make mine by hand but I did use that book as inspiration for my design.
The papers used for this Journal are all from the A4, digital version of the 'In the Watercolour Garden' Collection.
As I wanted a reasonably soft cover, I simply made it from cardstock.  I used black for the outside cover and kraft for the inside.  The finished book, when closed, measures 4.75" x 8.5".
I glued a piece of chipboard behind the spine on the inside cover for extra strength, punched the holes, threaded the elastic through those holes and simply knotted it at the back.   I then glued the two covers together.
As with the first Journal, this one doesn't have much in the way of embellishment.  As this is also a work book, I didn't want anything three dimensional getting in the way.  Besides, these papers have such lovely graphics on them that I really didn't want to cover them up.
For the front cover though, I did add a Tim Holz door knob and some stamping.  I also fussy cut a second butterfly to give it a little bit of dimension.

I really love the graphic on this paper .. simply stunning!!
The inside cover and the first signature.
I added a pocket on the inside front cover and added some faux stitching with a gel pen at the top.  The 'lace' is simply a strip cut from the edge of a paper doily.

The pocket will house a small booklet which will mainly be used for any hints and notes that I may find and wish to keep.  I added more faux stitching around the edge of the paper.
There are three signatures in this booklet ..
I cut some pages from a cheap exercise book for the inside, made a cover for each signature and stapled them together.  Each one loops under an elastic band in the spine of the outer cover.  This way, as I fill them up, I can create new signatures and  replace them.
Added a strip of washi tape at the edge of the signature to give the spine a bit more strength.  The only other bit I did was to add the quote.  As I said before, these papers have the most gorgeous graphics they really don't need any enhancement.
Back of the first signature and front of the second.
Love this music paper .. so gorgeous!!
All I did here was to add the quote.
Back of the second signature and front of the third.

I simply had to use this paper again .. I love it so .. and I only added the quote.  After taking this photo, I did add that strip of washi tape to the spine though, for added strength and continuity.
Back of the third signature and inside back cover.
This is the most gorgeous background paper .. I didn't add anything because I didn't want to spoil it.  Love it just as is.
As on the inside front cover, I just added some stenciling with Distress Ink.

A little metal embellishment on the back ..
.. and Voila!!
My work book is complete!!

Have a look at:  Margaret's Video

I hope you like my little book and I'm sure you will agree with me that those papers are simply stunning!!!!  If you'd care to take a look at all of the gorgeous papers available in the Garden HERE is the link.  While you're there, why not take a look at all the fabulous products in store ..
