Hello Paper Artists - February 2023

Welcome to my seriously NEW Vintage Art Product Line:

Stacked Ephemera & Collages M544

The latest Collection of Digital Papers M544 is totally new:

8 pages of serious Vintage Stacks & Collages. There are 4 on each 8.5x11” page - sizes vary a little but range approx.  4x5.5” - they can all be increased in size at printing  300dpi for high-quality printing, JPG format.

Ideas on How to Use Them:

Front of a card, journal, mini book, mixed media.

Page in an art journal, centerpiece, or a fold-out

Cut out pieces, halves, and quarters & use them elsewhere

Thread twine through & tie on the front

Use a paint canvas & build an art piece with/without  a background paper

Add a splash of color to continue with the project

When using on the front of a book, make sure that the theme, style & color tie in with the contents of the book since the cover makes a statement of what is inside the book.

All of the above ideas include foam mounts, paint, charms, and other ephemera, add an area within the piece to slice & add foam or part of a cotton ball to create texture & height.

Any of these ideas can easily be carried inside the art project to add to the art flow.

Mary's take on a Junk Journal

Journaling takes on many forms, depending on the "eye of the beholder".

This journal is a reminder of special days for our friends - a Birthday Journal.

The papers, images, tags, flowers, ribbons, dollies and bling come from past and current Meg's Garden collections.

Each month features a different tag, a beautiful emotive image of a lady and embellished with flowers, pearls, laces or ribbon - all of which are available from Meg's Garden.

The reverse side showcases the flower of the month, plus a small saying from Meg's range of Cut & Create.

This creation has taken many weeks to complete, but would not have been possible without the beautiful papers and ephemera from Meg's Garden.

Paper bag storage pocket

Hello everyone & welcome to my first post for 2020.

Today I would like to share with you an altered paper bag.
I have decorated my project using the very latest patterned papers from Meg's Garden. These gorgeous papers are called the Pink & Green paper collection. They are available to purchase in a hard copy format or digital format from Meg's Garden online store.

My paper bag measures approximately 20 cm in length (not including the handles).

I removed the handle section at the top of the bag, this will create a small pocket on top & the large gusset section.
Next trim patterned paper to fit the top pocket & the gusset section. I have inked my papers using a distress ink from Ranger called Old Paper.

I have added lace, a flower, cheesecloth & ephemera to my top pocket.  I then punched a hole into the gusset section and added some cord as a closure. The large gusset is now ready to store photo's, memorabilia or both.

Before adhering my storage pocket to my book page, I added some ephemera pieces & a paper doily to the page. The pocket was then glued in place. I added some touches of gesso & glitter glue to my paper & ephemera pieces. The gesso adds a softness & the glitter adds a touch of glam creating a very feminine page.

I have created a double sided tag. One side to write on & the other has a pretty piece of ephemera. This tag sits in the top pocket.

This page is now ready to be inserted into my book that I am currently creating with these new patterned papers.
Please stop by Meg's Garden store for all of the latest patterned paper collections & so much more.

Until next time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Emphasis on Mini!

Taking the title of Meg's new collection Mini Junk Journals quite literally, I have created just that - a mini junk journal. Emphasis on the 'mini'!!

Designed as a small book, with pages from a variety of mediums - vellum, dictionary paper, and junk journal papers from Meg's collection, complete with a bookmark and interactive elements.

This journal can be adapted to a personalised card, leave simply as a decorative piece on an easel or mounted on canvas.

Each page has design images from Cut & Create pages and embellished with textural pieces, either charms, staples or ribbons and muslin.

I have included a 'pop up' sentiment when the pages are turned, and also created a small tag that can be removed from its pocket.

There are ample opportunities within the pages to include personal pieces, photos or notes. I have die cut from Meg's papers small areas for hand written comments or can simply be used as another layer to embellish.

Love, Always

Hi Everyone,

The emotive sentiment was the inspiration for this card (and my love for all things Over The Top!) Just look at the beautiful lady's eyes -  love and purity. Both are cut from Meg's Cut & Create pages from the new French Roses Collection.

As well as my love for O.T.T, I also love layering on cards - adding height and focal impact. For this card, layering was made easy with the extensive choice of delicate patterned papers.

The paper flowers - not quite pink, and not quite apricot, tone perfectly with the papers for added detail and embellishments. Tucked around them, I have ribbon bows, feathers and bling.

And now for the O.T.T moment.. a piece of pearl costume jewellery! It sits atop of a Cut & Create design, finishing the card with a bling!

The French Roses Collection is a masterpiece of beautiful papers, thoughtful colour selection and heartfelt choice of ephemera.

Crazy Patch Card

Hi Everyone,

Inspired by my love of patchwork, the glorious range of patterns and tonal colours in the French Roses Collection made selecting 11 papers and ephemera for my card a delight.

After cutting pieces to the desired size, construction and placement came easy.
The pink hues all blend nicely creating an overall eye-catching design. Inking around all edges in a complimenting pink ink also adds interest and frames each piece.

Then came the part I love the best - embellishing! Finishing off the card with delicate ribbons, flowers, and pearls which coordinate so perfectly with the French Roses Collection, and adding gold highlights to accentuate the vintage tones in the Cut & Create images.

Creating something so intricate with ease could only be possible because of the extensive range of the French Roses Collection and embellishments in Meg's Shop.

Folded in Love

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing another special card, something a little different.

Using a standard sized card as the base, I have added a tri-fold piece to the front, creating not only a lovely visual, but more area to decorate using the new Spring Flowers Collection.

Each level has the beautiful pastel papers, then I decorated with the Cut & Create Ephemera sheets, which are the perfect size and style for this card.

For texture, I used lace and ribbon, and embellished with flowers and leaves. A few spots of bling, and the card is done! There is still plenty of room for a greeting or sentiment, I have also used papers from this collection inside the card, ready to be written on.

I could not finish without using my new favourite piece from the Spring Flowers Collection... the magnificent Butterfly Transparencies! Aren't they gorgeous?!

Happy Crafting!

Vintage Journal Cards - Flowers

Hello bloggers
Bec Jefferis here.  I wanted to pop in and share a card I made this weekend, using Meg's Garden NEW Journal cards - floral designs.
These are absolutely stunning floral designs with so much versatility to be used on cards, in happy mail, and as part of your journal.
I have made this card for a dear friend's birthday, in fact she was the one that gave me the dimensions of this unique card.
Of which you'll understand when you see the pictures and video below...
I used the blue tits journal card on the front with the blue watercolour background paper, that come with the card kits in Meg's NEW products.
I used navy watercolour paints to add some splatter dots and used crafters grass to nestle the image on the front of card.
I backed the journal card with a navy card stock and scratched the edges to create added dimension.
This is what the inside of the card looks like...
I used four more of the floral journal cards to create the pop up display.
They sit so well together backed with the pink watercolour background paper.  I used a rub on birthday sentiment to finish the card.
I have made a video of the card opening for you to see the full effect.
I hope you have enjoyed some different inspiration on the blog today.  Hope you get the chance to use your Meg's Garden products in a similar way.
Have a wonderful day
Take Care

Sherlock III: a New Case - We create our tomorrows by what we dream today...

Sherlock III: a New Case
Bec here, showcasing the new collection from Meg's Garden.
With this amazing collection of vintage papers, I have created a layout for this awesome composition photo of my nephews. I have used 3 of the A4 papers to create this background and have layered them to show how effective they are together.
Here is a close up of the crackled background paper that I placed just behind the photo to co-ordinate with the brickwork and walls in the photo.
I used 3 of the metal embellishments down the side of the photo to draw the eye back to the main piece on the page.
I have layered the clock face charm on the round filigree trinket.
I have used a saying from the Ephemera from the Poetry ephemera sheets. I felt it linked well with the photo.
I stamped a diamond pattern along the edge of the background paper and the opposite side on the compass background paper
Here is the stamping on one of the new collection A4 pages.
I have placed black rhinestones on the corners of the layers to define the corners.
All of these products can be found on Meg's Garden website, follow the link below or click on the links I have provided to the individual products.
I hope you like what you see.

Sherlock III: a New Case - Be as awesome as you can...

Sherlock III: a New Case
Be as awesome as you can.
I am popping in to show you my latest creation for Meg's Garden, using the NEW collection.

Using the Sherlock III, paper collection, I have created this layout of my nephew, Nathaniel.
I have tried to replicate the peeling paper with the brown kraft paper on the background.

I have used the layered papers from one of the background sheets as ephemera.

I really like the reflection of the owl in the water so I tried not to cover it.

I have used black enamel dots to repeat the black brad holding the sentiment tag.
BE AS AWESOME AS YOU CAN.

I hope you like what I have created today with products from Meg's Garden, follow the link to her website below for more of an idea of what she sells.

Dear, sweet, wonderful you!

Dear, sweet, wonderful you.
Let me show you something I've made this weekend with Meg's goodies....
Using one of the 12x12 doilies I created an envelope, I adhered one of the beautiful 5.5" Card Artists' Packs/Mini Papers from the Shades of Green Collection
With the floral background and ribbon on the background paper,

I have added some extra flowers with ephemera from the cut and create sheets. I have raised some of the flowers for the 'off the page effect'.

I have added a satin ribbon in emerald from a bundle of Meg's goodies.

With one of Meg's latest products I have added a touch of sparkle.  Meg's Garden website now has rhinestones and enamel dots.

I have used a stamp from my collection as the sentiment

I have used an emerald rhinestone on the top flap of the envelope to seal the doily around this creation.  In reality, it is a touch of doubled sided tape that is sealing the doily.

Look at the detail in this Basket Lace Square doily.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing something different here today.

Hop over to Meg's Garden website to see these beautiful products.
