Charming

So many dresses, so many places for a Lady to go!

The perfectly poised lady fitted beautifully into an oval chipboard frame, which has been painted antique gold.
Two more ovals of increased proportionate size complemented the frame.

Background paper from A Lady's Diary collection was laid down first. Then the complimenting ovals, followed by the lady in the oval.

The card was finished off with delicate lace edging, two ribbons of various widths, finally cream paper flowers and a sentiment.

Advertising images from A Lady's Diary collection overlayed onto the base of the card formed the background for this unusual card. Six images in total were used, edges inked in sepia.

Over these images was a fine layer of distressed muslin and topped with vellum, giving a muted whimsical look.

For drama, three beautiful filigree metal charms adhered to the vellum, a narrow gilt chain linked the charms together, and delicate apricot coloured paper flowers finished the look.

Papers, cut and create images, ribbons and laces, plus the beautiful filigree charms available from Meg's Garden today.

Awesome Foursome

Hi Everyone,

I was inspired by the large and beautiful single flowers featured in the Cut & Create sheets, I gathered all my left-over bits and pieces and used them to make four simple but stunning cards.

The Cut & Create flowers are easy to trim around and mount - I then layered with laces, ribbon tied into bows, bling, pearls and paper flowers.

Spoilt for choice in the French Roses collection, I selected a background paper with delicate pinks to feature the bold blood red hues and a muted cream paper to tone with one exquisite ivory bud.

Finally, to make a decision on a sentiment! French Roses has so many evocative and whimsical words and phrases with delightful fonts to pick from.

This collection has been a joy to work with.

Crazy Patch Card

Hi Everyone,

Inspired by my love of patchwork, the glorious range of patterns and tonal colours in the French Roses Collection made selecting 11 papers and ephemera for my card a delight.

After cutting pieces to the desired size, construction and placement came easy.
The pink hues all blend nicely creating an overall eye-catching design. Inking around all edges in a complimenting pink ink also adds interest and frames each piece.

Then came the part I love the best - embellishing! Finishing off the card with delicate ribbons, flowers, and pearls which coordinate so perfectly with the French Roses Collection, and adding gold highlights to accentuate the vintage tones in the Cut & Create images.

Creating something so intricate with ease could only be possible because of the extensive range of the French Roses Collection and embellishments in Meg's Shop.
