Shades of Green Collection

Hello Bloggers

This Paper Collection started out as being a Watercolour one but as you can see it changed.

Reasons for using Green as a colour in April:

• St. Patrick's Day - my paternal Grandfather was born in Dublin on St Patrick's Day
• in the Southern hemisphere, we are starting to see the leaves fall and/or change in colour & have to memorize how beautiful the trees are through an Autumn & Winter Season
• we are also thankful for the trees which keep their leaves
• the grass stays green but does not grow - a time for the lawnmower men to relax a bit
• but the lawnmower men now have to rake & get rid of the leaves
• in the Northern hemisphere, the trees have hints of the buds of the green leaves to come; the crocus are up, other bulbs will follow & the forsythia blooms are almost here & there are signs of Spring & other hints of the rejuvenation
• the main reason is that it is such a beautiful & vibrant colour with so many shades

The green colour is one of the most pervasive in the natural world. This colour can take a huge variety of shades, and whenever you paint landscapes, florals or living creatures, it’s crucial and challenging to choose the right ones for the situation.

Green is a secondary colour that is easy to obtain by mixing two primary colours: yellow and blue. In fact, “yellow” in this equation can vary, and range from Cadmium Lemon to Burnt Umber.

In the Watercolour Garden - by Margaret Mifsud GDT

Hello everyone and welcome to the Garden!!  Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I'm here to share two cards made with some stunning papers created by Meg.  The collection is called In the Watercolour Garden (hence my post Title) and it is absolutely gorgeous!!  The papers I have used here are from the A4 digital version but you can also purchase these papers in different sizes in both digital and printed format.
All of Meg's papers are fabulous to use as backgrounds but they also have some lovely images as well so, whatever you wish to create, from cards to layouts to mini books, there is a size and design to suit your needs.

For this card, I printed out two copies of the paper and cut one to size to be used as my base layer. 

I fussy cut the butterfly and two flowers from the second sheet and layered them over the original image.  I used some double sided foam tape to give it dimension.

The flower petals below were all from my stash and were all originally white.  Some of them were coloured with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and others with watered down acrylic paint.  I then simply layered them to fill the chipboard frame and added some seed beads for the centers.

For my second card I printed a single sheet of my selected paper and added a bit of stenciling with texture paste in the top corner.

Some pretty lace from my stash was adhered down the center of the card.  I also added a piece of gauze and a couple of straws before attaching the flowers.

The blue flower is from my stash.  The smaller flowers are from the Garden.   All of them (except for the white one of course) were coloured with sprays.

The chippie is from Scrapmatts and I simply left it raw.  To create a bit more interest and texture, I added some prills and microbeads.

Instead of twine, I created the bow with some knitting cotton.  I find this best to use when I want a soft, floppy bow.

Although the laces I used on these cards came from my stash, Meg has some beautiful laces in her shop.  Some are similar to the ones shown here but there are many more to choose from.

Hello bloggers and lovers of beautiful paper and trims

Who doesn't love Blue,this collection of Megs is so pretty and delicate

With the downloadable papers you never run out!

For my first card I cropped and printed out this lovely photo of Hydrangeas, I cut the tiny wee butterflies and used dies and pearls to highlight the picture

My second card I have used the cute and create A4 paper and also

more of the watercolour collection on a blue cardstock.

I added Megs Garden lace with burlap and velvet flowers

with some of my own lace.

My LO called Blue

These are my  Hydrangeas which at certain times change colours depending on the soil

I used another A4 Size printable paper punched the edges
