2017 by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. The page I did today was a 12x12 book cover for 2017.
I carefully choose different items and pictures that represent the past year.

I was able to use one of the new dies from Megs garden. The circle of leaves is a lovely way to draw your eye to the picture. I cut and folded the fan from Megs papers to give it a 3D feel.

I used a feather from my Guinea fowls to go with the ink nib.

Thanks for having a look at my page. Enjoy your day.

In the Watercolour Garden ~ Smile

Hello Mary here today to share a layout using the "In the Watercolour Garden Range"
I created this layout for a challenge and Megs Garden paper and embellishments were just what I wanted to create with
.
SMILE

This was for a sketch challenge and I love the softness of Megs "In the Watercolour Garden" papers to go with the vintage photo's of my Grandmother , Aunts and a Uncle at my Eldest Brothers wedding.
I have torn the 4 x 12 inch paper that comes with the 12x12 papers to give it a irregular edge which I have inked and placed my photo's on . The Smile sentiment is my title and is from the Cut and Create page that always have the most gorgeous images. The flower cluster  with the beautiful velvet flowers and ribbon add to the vintage feel. The fleurs image I have used as my tag with journalling on the back and it just tucks up under the edge and lace . I finished the layout off with the beautiful flower die cut, which I just love.

Everything I have used to create this layout is from Megs Garden Shop
Thank You for calling by , I hope you visit the shop to see how gorgeous this range is  and be inspired create with the beautiful papers and embellishments.
Happy Creating

Shabby Chic Cards

Hello everyone! I hope that you are well. I am sharing two cards that I have created using the White Flowers on Green Collection from Meg's Garden.

The collection has lovely ephemera. I selected this elegant lady as my focal image and used a Spellbinders die to frame it. I drew inspiration from the colours from the flowers in her hat to select flowers to embellish my card.

The lace, and trinket are also available from Megs's Garden as well.

My second card again has images from the ephemera pages. I fussy cut the white frame to frame another elegant vintage lady image.

To compliment the scrolls in the frame, I selected some Spellbinder lacey edge dies. The background papers are very subtle, so I framed them with white card stock and used foam tape to add definition between my layers.

Supplies:
Paper: White Flowers on Green
Ribbon, lace and trinkets all available from Meg's Garden

Thanks so much for stopping by the Meg's Garden blog today!

STROLL THROUGH THE GARDEN ~ PARISIAN GARDENS RANGE

Hello Mary here to share a layout created with the Beautiful Parisian Gardens Range . I love this range a lot !

With very little water (living in the country we only had tank water)  my Mum had a big, beautiful garden. She loved pottering and planting and nuturing her garden, so the Cut and Create Sentiment Stroll through the Garden , gave me the idea for my layout.

I am also a little addicted to making these tags at the moment for my layouts and cards. The gorgeous images from the Cut and Create sheets are perfect for them. On this tag I have used the filigree and added some gold stick on dots. I added the gold bee charm to my flower and leaf cluster, all from Megs Store and finished off with the soft , green nylon ribbon from Megs Store.

The bead added a nice touch , along with some lace .

then of course the lady and gentleman strolling through the garden from the Cut and Create Sheet was a must.

I added a little texture with a stencil and texture paste.
Also I would like to share another couple of tags created with the images from the cut and create sheet

Such beautiful images

I have added the butterfly charm to the above tag

The tags are so much fun to make and with the cut and create images you can't go wrong.
Thank you for calling by and until next time I hope you find time to create with this gorgeous range

Spring by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone.
When creating your latest scrap project there will always be left over pieces of pages when its time to clean up. I find it very hard to throw these in the bin so I put them all in a tray knowing they will be handy for a future pages.
Well with such a wet winter the spring here was amazing for my flowers in the garden.
I knew I had paper from Megs garden that would complement pages with them.
So here is a mix up of a few of Megs papers.

The amount of bling I put on this page made it very difficult to get a nice photo. I used Kindy Glitz and Liquid Pearls to high light this lovely lady.

Tearing the edges of the matting around the photos gives another depth to the page.

When using left over paper to make a book it doesn't have to be the same size as the page before.

Adding fold out pages gets the best out of double sided pictures.

Cutting out and gluing part of a see through image , for example the butterfly , makes the image seen on following pages.

I am lucky enough to have a magnificent wisteria like the beautiful papers at Megs garden. They look great together.

On the back page I used a Slide Mailer from Megs Garden. This made a lovely ending for the book.

Thanks for having a look at my book.

ART JOURNAL BOOK ~ PARISIAN GARDENS RANGE

Hello Mary here to share with you today.
Art Journals are a great way to get your emotions onto a page and to experiment freely. I purchased a old book from a second hand shop for this reason. On this page I have used images from the Cut and Create Page (they are fabulous for this style of creating)

I glue a few pages of the book together to give the page strength and then I prime the pages with Gesso, ( clear gesso if you want the print of the book page to show through )
Firstly I play with mists and inks and then I add the images and stamping and last my quote.
I fussy cut the decorative border from the cut and create for the top of my page and shaded with blue. The large butterfly from the cut and create page I have gone around the edge with a white gel pen.
Finally I fussy cut the girl, flowers and the word "Beauty" from the cut and create sheet added to the opposite page. Its a little hard to see , but under the word "Beauty" I have added the lovely sheer Green Ribbon from Megs Store
You can find the cut and create sheets (along with many other gorgeous products ) in Megs Store

Until next time Happy Creating
