Hello everyone, popping in to the blog today to show you some cards I created with this beautiful collection!

All the cards are using the A4 pages, cutting out the most beautiful elements on the pages to make the centrepiece of each card.

This card uses the ink pot as the inspiration, I have added the pen nib and the sentiment "Spread the word" to create a writers theme.  The organza ribbon tied in beautifully with the vintage photo ink around the background paper.

This card has such a beautiful background paper that I left it so simple with a mink/taupe organza ribbon and the muted rhinestones from the diamond sheet, available at the website.

This card has such a detailed background paper that all I needed to do was ink the edges with vintage photo ink and add a sentiment.  I used "Time is a storyteller" because the paper looks like a collection of someone's belongings.  I added jute twine to the tag I created.

This card uses the top of one of the A4 collection papers and the postcard is a green text so I used a green backing card, embellishing the card with the green velour flower trim and an organza ribbon bow.  I have added sage green rhinestones from the emerald sheet.

Vintage Spirit

This photo was in my Mum's photo album and I need to find out her story. I scanned the writing on the back to add to my layout and for the clue whom this lady is ~ her name being Lottie. My Grandmother on my Fathers side had a twin sister Lottie , but I am pretty sure this is not her, but rather a relative on my Mothers side as "The Glen" was my Grandparents  home on my Mothers side. Anyway I will ask my Cousin when I next see her as she is probably the only one alive now that might know.

I was thrilled to receive the fringe tassel in my pack, how gorgeous is it ! I added the pearl trim and sheer ribbon to it and also placed the green with gold ribbon under the inscription from the back of the photo along with the ink nibs.
I am loving the branch with flowers die , as it is so versatile and I placed it along side my photo . I layered a couple of images from the cut and create sheet and also used the large round fligree and added the lion door knock charm to it.
The 12 x 12 pages comes with a 4x12 strip and I have used this to tear and place under my photo, which I then swiped over with Gesso to add definition to the edges . Also to my page I added some stamping and washi tape.

The Book of Jones: A Mini Book for Meg's Garden

Hello fellow crafters! Cathi here with some more heirloom photos and family fun to show you with one of Meg's Gardens newest releases!!

This month I have done a mini book with the gorgeous new book kit I was sent in my DT parcel: The Sherlock Book Kit by Watson. This kit is chock full of gorgeous vintage pages and vintage ephemera cut outs!  I have put my pages together by glueing them back to back and then stitching down the middle of the spine to bind them. I stitched the pages to the cover and then covered the stitching with the gorgeous textured piece to imitate an old book or journal. I love the look it gives!

For the cover details, I added a gorgeous ribbon from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set. I have used a vintage cut out from the The Sherlock Book Kit by Watson and then decorated it with gorgeous Chocolate Small Roses, Paper Lilies and one of the beautiful Pen Nibs.

Here is a look inside my mini, all of the photos are of my mother's side of the family, The Jones'. I guess I am keeping up with my Joneses in this album, and I am very lucky to have some really amazing photographs to share!!

Here is my first page. My grandfather Ernest Jones was a musician and had a big band back in the 30s and 40s, Ernie Jones and the Mound Citians! St. Louis was called the Mound City as there are actually some prehistoric passage tombs of early native Americans found in and around the big city!  I have used lots of ephemera on this page, a metal flower cut in half from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set, lots of background stamping and masking.

This next photo is a favorite of mine and I have it framed and hung up on the wall! This is my great great Uncle Leo and some of his pals. They demonstrated roller skating as a brand new "sport" at the St. Louis World Fair in 1904. I added lots of metal bits again from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set, choosing round ones and industrial type ones to tie into the roller skate theme. The vintage cut outs I used all tied in with new inventions and a globe, to fit the theme of the World's Fair. I have used mist, stamping and masking again to tie the pages together.

Here is a familiar photo  of my great grandfather again. I just had to add to my book again. I added gears from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set, and lots of vintage cut outs. I finished off the pages with more masking and stamping.

Here in the centre of the book is my beautiful grandmother Rosemary Furlong Jones. I had to add this familiar photo in too!! To decorate these pages I used the Ivory Small Roses and a 10 cm Paper Doily and more vintage cut outs from the The Sherlock Book Kit by Watson and metal flower from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set.

The next page is a photo of my grandmother a little older with her three younger sisters and...a goat...not sure about this one, didn't get a story to go along with this!!. I used some photo corners, a metal filigree and the white flower from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set and many many vintage cut outs.

My final page in the book is one of my favorites! The youngest girl from the photo above with the goat turned in my beautiful Great Aunt Marge. This photo she had taken for my Great Uncle Les so he could have a photo to remember her by during World War II. Such a stunning photo, I just love this one! I have again used the metal pieces, flowers and ribbons from the Temptations in cream, camel, copper & brown set as well as some 10 cm Paper Doilies.

I love how the book has turned out and hope you have enjoyed looking through it!!

Rosemary: A Heritage Layout by Cathi O'Neill

Hi friends!! Cathi here again, back in Ireland, getting ready for the start of another school year for my girls.  I love taking photos of them, but I am also grateful that I have an aunt on my mom's side that has kept track of an amazing wealth of ancestral photos for our family. I am using another one this month for my layout, this time my own maternal grandmother, Rosemary Jones. This is her First Communion photo, I just love the big bow and ringlets in her hair, such a great photo!! I focused on the Correspondence Collection this time, using the gorgeous Correspondence Collection - A French Account 12 x 12 sheet, the Correspondence Collection - Mademoiselle Louise and Correspondence Collection - Cut & Create Correspondence 4x12 sheets. I love how you can use the smaller bonus sheets to build up layers on your projects!

Here you can see the flower cluster I created featuring the Chocolate Small Roses, Dusty Pink Poppy and Paper Lilies.  I added a fun Tim Holtz Pen Nib to the cluster to tie in with the cut out images I used from the Correspondence Collection - Cut & Create Correspondence sheet.

I love how this Large Rectangular Laser Frame looks after I have covered it in gesso for a base coat and then used my Walnut Stain and Victorian Velvet Distress Inks to color it. I wanted to have an aged look but also pick up the color of the Dusty Pink Poppy. I finished off the frame with a favorite script stamp in my stash.

Meg's Garden carries some amazing metal trinkets perfect for any project. Here you can see the Vintage Trinkets - Butterfly pieces I used to adorn the chipboard frame. I finished them off with a few pink pearls I had.

Hello there Crafters and Meg's Garden fans!

This is Marzena and it's my first projects for Meg's Garden as DT Member.

I am so happy to can work with this fabulous papers and embellishments.

My first 2 projects feature Correspondence Collection.

I have made an album for my Friend's Birthday entirely with the Correspondence Collection using papers 12x12 inches. I used out every single page :-) 

My album has 10 pages and covers.

The cover wears beautiful Carabella Rose Posy - fairy pink flowers, 

the leaves are made from the Ivory Mesh Ribbon, 

there is one metal Filigree flower 

and amazing Tim Holtz Pen Nib,

Every page is based on Correspondence papers embellished with stamps and some non-pop up details. 

All the pages and covers are distressed with brown ink. Love this Collection for the vintage look.

My second project is a card which matches with the album and is second part of the Birthday gift. 

I tried to keep it the most similar to the album as I could. 

The card is made from the same Correspondence Collection with the 4 x 12'' strips. 

I put the same flowers and leaves.

Kerry-Jean has been busy creating with her new papers:

A masculine card from the "Correspondence" collection, using some Tim Holtz metal embellishments. Firstly the Mini Gears, there are a couple Pen Nibs and the Ornate Plates.  I love using the transparency clock faces from Old World Time Transparency.

Great card Kerry-Jean - love the metal embellishments & the Old World Time clock faces & hands are perfect. Well done
