The Embellished Doily
The originator of the Embellished Doily is Christine Middlecamp – http://retrospection.typepad.com.
Her instructions can be found at her blog by doing a search on ‘embellished doily’
The following Embellished Doilies are my take on her idea:
The Garden Chair |
Lovers in the Garden |
The Bird Cage |
Gate to the Garden |
Adore Friends |
The French Garden |
The Collage Tag They are all done using, as a base, the papers from the French Garden Collection Cardmakers Pack. http://megsgarden.com which are 144x144mm square. The majority of the centre pieces are also punched from the Cardmakers Pack. For these projects, I am using a small round doily with a 10cm outside diameter & a 60cm diameter centre. This doily is perfect for using a 3″ round or 3″ scallop punch for creating a centre out of patterned paper, transparency, plain cardstock or whatever you want your background to be. The doily will then have a beautiful design around the background. Foam mounts are essential to create each of the layers. Had so much fun doing these - will have to do more using Denise Ann's latest Collection - the Garden of Blue Flowers. Bye for now Meg |
