Emphasis on Mini!

Taking the title of Meg's new collection Mini Junk Journals quite literally, I have created just that - a mini junk journal. Emphasis on the 'mini'!!

Designed as a small book, with pages from a variety of mediums - vellum, dictionary paper, and junk journal papers from Meg's collection, complete with a bookmark and interactive elements.

This journal can be adapted to a personalised card, leave simply as a decorative piece on an easel or mounted on canvas.

Each page has design images from Cut & Create pages and embellished with textural pieces, either charms, staples or ribbons and muslin.

I have included a 'pop up' sentiment when the pages are turned, and also created a small tag that can be removed from its pocket.

There are ample opportunities within the pages to include personal pieces, photos or notes. I have die cut from Meg's papers small areas for hand written comments or can simply be used as another layer to embellish.

Die Cut Duo

Another delivery from Meg's Garden, just like Christmas - full of surprises!
A delight for paper crafters - I love the quality of paper plus the finished printed colour.

I am sharing two cards in this post, both use the same die cut, but different coloured cardstock. Each with their own unique look, suitable for any occasion.

The first card I teamed with a beautiful muted grey floral Vintage Journal Card, picking up the silver and lilac colours. I wrapped silver ribbon on opposite corners, and placed matt silver bling around the oval frame.

I placed the 'Love' sentiment from Cut & Create pages, then the final touch is the mulberry paper flower in the top corner.

The second card, even though using the same die, has an entirely different look and feel.

The demure lady with her over the shoulder pose inspired the lavender and amethyst colours. Using violet velvet ribbon, I again wrapped it around two corners.

Bunches of mini paper flowers and a bold flourish of magenta feathers complete the card.

A Vintage Style Junk Journal

Hello everyone & welcome
Today I would like to share with you a vintage style junk journal that I have created using products from Meg's Garden online store.

Video Link:    https://youtu.be/WSwXWfv8UEE

I did not really have any set ideas when I first started creating this little journal book other than to try & use as much of the patterned papers and ephemera pieces from the cut and create sheets as I could. I have a very large box that I store all of my Meg's Garden supplies in and set about gathering patterned papers & ephemera pieces with similar colours.
The front cover has been embellished with die cut shapes, flowers, cheesecloth & self-adhesive pearls. This journal measures 5"x 5 ½". The cover is made from chipboard.

The spine is decorated with gold trim and a metal charm. Gold organza ribbon wraps around as a closure and ties in front.

There are 10 pages plus the front and back inside covers. The pages are created using walnut cream bazzill. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly this little book came together. There are lots of pockets and tuck spots throughout and I have decorated with lace, paper flowers, charms, doilies, ribbons & trims.

The edges of many of the papers have been distressed or torn and then inked.

These are the tags & ephemera pieces scattered throughout the journal.

The back cover.

Stop by Meg's Garden online store to see these papers and for the latest up and coming patterned papers plus lots of inspirational ideas.

Until next time.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Female Vintage Birthday

One of the (many) things I love about Meg's Garden collections, is that you can adapt the papers to suit any occasion - and gender.

From Meg's latest Junk Journal collection, I have made both a male and female birthday card - showing how easy it is, using the one collection, to create for both.
In this post, I am sharing the female birthday card.

In contrast to my previous minimally embellished male birthday card, but still using the same Junk Journal papers, I went 'over the top' in embellishments for the more feminine birthday card.

Taking inspiration from the washi strips included in this collection, I layered the paper strips with vintage laces. Creating depth and a variety of textures, I continued to frame the card this way.

Using the same die cut sentiment as on the male card, this time only using it the once, leaving plenty of room for the Junk Journal Cut & Create designs to embellish the centre of the card.

Not holding back, I also decorated with paper flowers, a fabric button and one of my favourite textural pieces - muslin!

From ultra-girly, to modern male, you'll find papers for all your needs at Meg's Garden!
