Have yourself a very elegant Christmas

Christmas cards and gift-giving is made all the easier this season with Meg's Garden 2019 Christmas collection. In elegant creams and vintage tones, Christmas cards this year will be something special.

I have made a series of four cards, each using elements from the Christmas collection and embellishments from Meg's Garden.

To the Cut & Create bauble, I added sequins, gold pearl bling, ribbons and flowers for a stylish almost real-to-touch bauble.

Using a Vintage Journal Card and nesting dies, I layered each cut of the whimsical evocative image, two young children waiting for Santa. To keep the imagery the main focal point, embellishments are minimal in ribbons and gold leaves, paper flowers, stamens and bows.

What a stunning VJC image! Layering again with nesting dies, this time at an angle. The damask background is one of the elegant papers included with the Christmas collection. Minimally embellished, featuring a bow, beautiful crystal hat pins and bling.

With so many choices from Meg's Garden Christmas collection, I have one final, more traditional, card to share.

Using four traditional "old world" Cut & Create images of St. Nicholas, I mounted each on papers in Christmas red, green and gold. Finishing with a fitting sentiment, again from the Cut & Create sheets and embellishing with bling, glitter flowers in gold.

I Believe in Santa

For something different this Christmas, I have created a tri-fold card.

Not only a lovely card to give this season, but can also be used as a table decoration piece.

Red, green and glitter gold ribbons cut and adhered at an angle completely cover and form the front of the card.

Embellishments from Meg's Garden, including gold leaves, a beautiful fabric flower and a Cut & Create sentiment to finish.

Inside is more ribbon, this time a gathered panel for effect and texture.

Another beautiful Christmas image from the new Christmas Cut & Create papers features in the centre.

Keeping with traditional colours, I embellished with coordinating green and gold leaves and glitter flowers.

These items, and so much more, can be found in Meg's Garden, for a truly handmade Christmas!

'Tis the season for Tinsel

Not that I really need any excuse to embellish 'over the top', Christmas is the perfect season to decorate not only your tree, but your handmade cards too!

Making a feature of Meg's Cut & Create Christmas holly images, plus layer upon layer of the beautiful damask papers, I created another special Christmas card.

Comprising of 3 damask layers built up with mounting tape, I did not hold back using the many detailed holly images, placing them at each level.

For a touch of shabby, I heavily inked and distressed the edges and included pieces of muslin on each layer.

Atop the damask layers is a beautifully vintage Christmas sentiment, again from the ever versatile Cut & Create sheets.

The finishing over the top element is definitely the silver tinsel! Not only adding the wow factor, but texture and fun.

Meg Garden has all the perfect papers and embellishments to let our creativity shine.

There are no rules with tinsel, no one ever said it belongs only on our Christmas tree!
Have some fun and create something extra special this festive season.

Christmas Treasure Box

It's that special time of year - again! How quickly Christmas rolls around.

Using Meg's latest Christmas collection, in delightful damask patterns and vintage tones, I created a treasure box to store all things Christmas in one convenient place.

Inspiration came from an old box I found during a spring clean up, previously the home to a jigsaw puzzle. A quick light sanding and it was primed and ready for a new release of life.

The front, back and spine are Meg's beautiful damask papers and embellishments, perfect for Christmas or any occasion when a touch of elegance is required.

A chipboard frame is the hero piece, painted gold with deep crackles adding to the aged vintage feel.

A fan of all things interactive, this box was not spared. Using another damask design, I created a pocket within the frame. Inside I have tucked a gift tag made from a Christmas Vintage Journal Card and embellished with beautiful elements from Meg's Garden.

Just like Cut & Create collections past, the Christmas pages are stunning. Detailed, intricate and beautifully vintage.

With ample room inside, uses for the treasure box are endless. I have chosen to fill it with Christmas cards, and will pop in ribbons and Art Tags ready for Santa and his elves!

The gold Christmas ribbon embellishment and Cut & Create images inspired the colour scheme for this card, proving that colours and styles other than traditional are just as merry.

Make sure you have a stroll through Meg's Garden and pick up all your Christmas card making supplies, for a very merry handmade Christmas!

Mini Vintage Christmas Junk Journal

Hello everyone & welcome,

Today I would like to share with you my Christmas Vintage style Junk Journal.
I have created this journal with the latest Christmas paper collection called Elegant Damask
Christmas available from Meg's Garden online store.

The cover for this mini journal is made from a paper lunch bag that has been folded in half. My journal measures 4"x 4 ¾". The papers that I have chosen to embellish my book are from the Elegant Damask Christmas cut & create ephemera sheets.
I have decorated the cover with gesso, inka gold, ephemera pieces, glossy accents, sequins, metal hardware, hand dyed lace and organza ribbon.

There is only one signature and it contains 42 pages of various sizes. There are lots of places for writing, maybe a photo or two or for adding more embellishments.

Until next time,
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.

How to Make Awesome Mini Albums using our Accordion Book Kits

Hello Paper Artists

Link to Video:  https://youtu.be/gYe8EV-vrUo - 6 books in video

They are absolutely perfect for quick & easy projects; they make a very beautiful or fabulous grunge or vintage art piece & can be used to stand up & display themselves.

Why are they so perfect?
Because Meg’s Garden mini book/junk journal is already made. There is 1 long piece of paper scored for 6 pages; the paper is 180 gsm so it can take as many embellishments as you want & the 2 covers are very sturdy 2mm thick card & just need to be glued or attached to pages 1& 6.  No fussy spine, cover, attaching to worry about. And they make wonderful gifts.

They are also great for using up:
·        those fabulous  scraps of patterned papers in your stash
·        some ribbons, laces, loose leftover flowers & leaves
·        ephemera, jutes & more
·        just decide the style & colours
·        and then you really need to rummage into your stash

If you love to make ‘fat’ books & junk journals with flowers & leaves, pockets, tuck spots & strips, we have a solution for that – we modify the accordions.

These are the 2 Christmas Books using the Accordion Book Kit

Bye for now
off to finish the new vintage Junk Journals using the Accordion Book Kits.
Where does the time go?
