Jen creates with the Slide Mailers

Hello Bloggers:

'Hi everyone, Jen here today sharing my latest project for Meg's Garden. I got the pleasure of creating with the new Art papers this time round and I instantly fell in love with them. I wanted to create something pretty special and unique with them so decided to add the microscope art pieces available in Meg's store onto my order. I had never seen anything like the microscope art before and couldn't wait to play with it. When I saw the glass slides and beautiful images I was in my element.

I used the Art papers as a cover for the little album and used a mask and texture paste to create some depth. I painted the texture paste with Inka gold in Platinum and Apricot then inked round the edges with distress ink in Tea Dye. I added a  chipboard frame as a title.  I inked the frame using more Tea Dye ink and then added some Crackle Accents to give it an aged effect .

On the inside page I again used the beautiful Art papers. I layered them with coffee dyed medical gauze and added some lace. The beautiful heart doily is available in the Meg's Garden store and I just misted it with some  spray. I also hand embroidered the edges to add some interest & stamp.

Now onto the glass slide page. Aren't these just amazing? I used 2 different  masks with texture paste round the edges and again painted it with the  Gold as above. I inked all the edges of the images with the Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and glued everything in. I trimmed the edges with some lace and finished off with 2 wooden frames.

The micro scope art comes in a pack of different size little albums. I can't wait to create another one and share it with you. Jen xx'

Thanks Jen - fabulous use of the slide mailers, papers & slides

Hello Bloggers

Adriana shows us her slide mailer card:
'Hi everyone,
I have a quick and special little project
that I have created for
my DT work for Meg's Garden
Using a microscope slide mailer with the
two slots and the stamps set which are all available
from

Front cover

Inside

Outside cover
I made a very quick step by step on
this project.......

1. Cut out the middle of the insert of the
Microscope slider mailer

2. Prime your slide mailer
with two coats of white Gesso.
Leave to dry.

3. Apply, Wild Honey, Broken China Distress
Stains or paints. Blending the colours together,
until you are happy with the results.

4. Using Rubber stamps , apply your selected designs
with black memento ink pad. I have used
TJ Design Elements rubber stamp collection
for the outside of the folder.

For the inside I used
some Paris rubber stamps.

5. Decorate the front with metal elements and flower.

6. Cut out the vintage ladies images from the
(I cut 3 images and then glued in the centre of the slide panels, decorate with metal embellishments around the edges.
on spine of slide folder.

Cut a butterfly from the
glue on mailer as shown.

Thank you so much Adriana for using the photo - the ringlets were accomplished by rolling the hair round rags which were then tied tight - I know because they did the same thing to me - ouch it hurts.

This LO shows how these papers designed by Kerry-Jean Watson can be used dramatically as seen on Heather's LO on Monday & with flowers & lace in a very pretty LO here.
So versatile!!

A Correspondence Card from Marg

Hello Bloggers

Marg shares a very beautiful card with us today:

'Hi everyone!!!  It is my turn again at Meg's Garden and I'm so pleased you could come for a visit.
I have a card to share made with the new 'Correspondence' papers designed by  Kerry-Jean Watson.  I was very privileged to be one of the first to have the opportunity to use these papers.  They are so pretty and a real dream to work with.

The papers I've used on this card are all from the mini paper pack and the only alterations I've made is to distress the edges and add a little doodling.

Did some stitching around the edge and added some stamens and small twigs between the layers.  I've also added a few pearls here and there.  The metal heart was recycled from an old necklace that was no longer being used by it's owner and I was lucky enough to be given some of the pieces.

In the lower left corner you can see I've added a few Micro Beads.  The greeting was printed on my computer and simply matted on some cardstock.

The inside was decorated with some strips of the paper which was border punched with M.S. Doily Lace Punch ...

... and here is the full frontal!!!
As I said at the beginning of this post, I was very privileged to be one of the first to use these papers and I thoroughly enjoyed creating with them.  I know for sure that I will be making many more projects with these lovely papers.

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and do take a minute to check  out all the gorgeous products Meg's Garden has to offer.  Believe me, you won't be sorry.
Take care and God Bless.

Gorgeous card - well done Marg.  Love the layering you have done & the hints of cream are a fantastic touch.  The textures of beads, pearls, die cuts & flowers are fabulous. The inside of the card is the perfect finishing touch.
