'CHERISH' and 'CIRCA 1950'

Hello Bloggers,

I hope that you had a really lovely Easter with family and friends and managed some 'Me Time' to catch up on your hobbies.

I had the opportunity to be a little creative with some of Meg's Gardens lovely collections and did a little mixing and matching which worked perfectly.  For my first layout 'Cherish' is have used  'Chantilly Cream' cut and create and 'English Rose Garden'.
Some of Meg's Garden lovely small flowers, doilies, lace and ribbons and a little washi tape for the borders.
The extremely versatile 'cut and create' I backed onto cardstock and then applied Dimensional Magic, which gave the pretty pictures an added lift.

As I had a little extra time, I decided to work with Meg's garden 'Cafe au Lait' collection.  I have used an old family picture of my family  teamed with a little coloured gesso to match.

A little close up of textures used with this wonderful collection.
Well Bloggers I trust that you have been inspired this time to do a little 'mixing and matching' of Meg's Gardens Collection and be sure to keep an eye out for next month's new release.  It is absolutely amazing and I am sure you are going to love it.
Until next time........happy scrapping.......Love Liz

Monochromatic Layered Cards ~ by Sarah

Hi Meg's Garden friends! Sarah here to share a set of simple, monochromatic, layered cards I created using the beautiful Chantilly Cream paper collection, along with some lace and ribbon from the Meg's Garden store!
I used the square pages from the Chantilly Cream Papercraft Pack as the base to build up the cards and cut the rectangular strips from the Papercraft Pack into tags, which I embellished with some lace and ribbon. I added pieces cut from other pages in the 12x12 and Papercraft Pack along with a doily from my stash to create the layers and finished off the layering with cut-outs from the Cut & Create Page and the Papercraft Pack.  Finally, I splattered the cards with some white gesso and watered down Distress Reinker in Vintage Photo. Here are a few close-ups!

Thanks for stopping by the Meg's Garden Blog today!

CREATING PRETTY MAIL WITH CHANTILLY CREAM

Hello Mary here with my second post for Megs Garden.

Pocket Letters and Snail Mail are very popular at the moment and I thought I would like to create my pen friend a fold out Mail letter using the gorgeous Chantilly Cream range that I had left over from my kit.
I will take you through step by step on the construction of my folder
Firstly I used my envelope maker to create a 6 x 4 and 1/2 envelope from the left over paper Chantilly Cream 2  in my 12 x 12 kit
and for the folder itself I have used Chantilly Cream 03 . If you do not have a envelope maker , do not worry , just use any envelope you have at home in a suitable size as a template

Next I placed my envelope in the centre of the Chantilly Cream 3 Patter Paper and
Marked 4 equal squares . Using my envelope as a starting guide to measure from .  This will create the folds for your folder to encase your envelope.

Next cut away the four corners and ink all the edges

Now for the fun part , decorating the folder
Because the back of the folder is plain , I am using the 4 inch  Chantilly Cream strips in my kit to decorate it with

The Chantilly Cream Cut and Create are perfect for these types of projects. Pocket letters, tags, cards, the possibilities are endless  . I have made two little tags and tucked in the side of pockets The tags are made with the Cut and Create images as are the pockets for them to slide into.  I have also made a larger tag that I fussy cut the butterfly from the Cut and Create sheet , this tag will go in the envelope with my letter.

This is the Chantilly Cream Cut and Create Sheet  You can purchase at Megs Garden ~ so many gorgeous images

So now my folder is already to send once I have added my letter. I have used white satin seam binding on my tag and envelope flap , I sprayed the satin seam binding with Gold Glimmer mist to give it an aged look

So to fold it up and send it on its way ~ the inside

Side flaps folded in

It doesn't show up very well here, but I have used the wide cream ribbon to place the die cut hearts on at the top

The Back ~ I  love the girl image and I have placed a vintage trinket  in the centre of  a little frame from the Cut and Create Chantilly Cream sheet
A little lace along the bottom and tied up with cream narrow ribbon, all available at Meg Garden Shop

and the front ~ I have used a image from the Cut and Create sheet , Pearl spray, narrow cream ribbon and cream Organza satin edged ribbon

I hope I have inspired you to create  some pretty mail for someone special ,and you can get all you need to create that special mail over at Megs Garden
Until next time, happy creating.

Mary

Chantilly Cream Sympathy Cards - Margaret Mifsud

Hello everyone and welcome to the Megs Garden Blog.
Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

Creating Sympathy cards is always a bit difficult and when you have to make them for someone  who is very close to you it makes it even more so.  I needed to make cards for two very close friends who had lost someone dear to them and I used Megs Garden's Chantilly Cream Collection because they are such lovely papers and the creamy tones were just perfect for these cards.

Triple layers of paper for the base with some different laces in between.   I will list all Megs Garden products at the end of this post.  Distressing and crumpling the edges  slightly, I think, gives everything a softer look.

The small tags and the frame were fussy cut from the ephemera pages.  All the flowers are available from Megs Garden.

The leaves and doily are from my stash.

Printed the greeting on my computer and simply cut it into a small banner.

The next card only has a single layer of paper for the base.

I added some book paper, a doily, some ribbon and a piece of lace for the layers under the cluster.

The Puffy Paper Flowers are available from Megs Garden and I added a bow made from knitting cotton to my cluster.  The leaves are from my stash.

I used a lot of the same elements on both of these cards and the insides are the same as well.  I haven't shown you the right hand side as I had already added a personal message.

As I said at the beginning of this post, I did find these a bit difficult to make and, as they are quite personal, I really had to think twice about posting them.  I am hoping that, by doing so, I have helped those of you looking for some ideas.  I found the Chantilly Cream Papers were the perfect choice.  As I wanted a monochrome look, the lovely creamy tones and subtle patterns were ideal.

Thank you so much for visiting Megs Garden and, while you're here, why not take a stroll through the rest of the Garden and take a look at the gorgeous creations by my Team mates.  You will find some wonderful inspiration here and, if you were to leave us a little comment to let us know what you think, that would be awesome.  We would all appreciate that immensely!
