Butterflies with white flowers on green

Hello, everyone!

Veronika here to share my new DT works with  White flowers on green collection
from Meg's Garden.
I love that in every paper collection from Meg's Garden
I can find some beautiful butterflies, I think they are my favourite embelishments, becides flowers.
So I made three cards with flowers and butterflies and used some tickets with words from the same paper collection  as a finishing touch in my work.

Please check this amazing White flowers on green collection
here in Meg's Garden.

Best regards,
Veronika

Sherlock papers, album pages

Hello,
This will be my final project for Megs Garden Design team, my six months are up.
This month I have continued to work with the pack of Sherlock papers in my final design team bundle.

Page 1
From the cut and create sheet I selected elements which I felt would work well together to make a layered focal point on the page.
All the fussy cuts are edged with brown sharpie pen and colour was added using distress inks applied with a brush.
I found an old broken diamante chain in my stash.  As the diamantes are mounted in rose gold this went very well with the colour papers and would add that sparkle I wanted.
I got a little gemmed up for this page.
The results of a previous project search for art deco jewellery produced some lovely designs which I printed out with the intention of working them as I have in this project, as stunning embellishments at very little cost.

I worked in stages using glossy accents to adhere clear gems over the design

Once all the gems had been adhered, I added the sparkle with glitter, carefully applying the glossy accents over the printed design using a  fine pointed brush.

The finished result is a beautiful decorative jewelled element using the supplies you already have in your craft cupboards.
I mounted the clock face on some recycled cardboard and added glossy accent dots above each of the 12 numerals on the dial to add interest:
Finally i assembled the page from all the fussy cuts and individual elements.
I used the left over triangle from the front coverto make apocket into which the album owner can slip a photograph if they wish.
'The draughtsman', quill pen, torn ticket and half linear floral are all adhered to the background of the page:
The 'art' layered cut and create element formed the base layer, which I did not want to cover too much as it was already perfect.
I cut the centre from the mini book page and adhered my small photograph behind, added some scraps of washi tape and hessian.
Finally, I gave the page its bling.

Page 2
For the second page, and when I finish the album for a donation to my local homelessness charity for them to raffle to raise funds, I continued to work with the layering theme, using the layered papers and frame printed page as the background of a top opening pocket.
Many of the cut and create elements are adverts for photography studios emerging in the ealry 20th century.
By mounting this one on a book fold, i created a pocket behind which the album owner can tuck a photograph without loosing the lovely layered papers and envelopes I handmade inspired by other elements on the cut and create sheet which were too large for this layout.
A single bloom and some starbusts spray added the blue accent colour to the page.

Working with megs papers on this design team has been an interesting experience, through which I have been able to expand my range of skills.
thank you for looking,
debbie

Remember

Hello crafty friends, Brenda here with you today and a huge welcome to Meg's Garden Blog. My post for today is my layout using the stunning Sherlock Journal Vol. 11 papers. These are stunning papers and I have enjoyed working with them. I decided I would use a photo of one of the oldest homes in our local area. It is far from livable now with the Lloyd Family moving out many, many years ago.
Every time I go past I always think to myself if only the walls could talk. I love the history of the area and knew these papers would be perfect for my photo.

I created my page on a cream cardstock and on the edges of the patterned paper I used Distress Ink - Walnut Stain. I used the same ink on the corrugated cardboard just to blend the colour in a little more.  I left the chippie natural as I thought it suited the page better.

The vintage trinket behind the flowers is a XX Long Filigree, there are different ones  and they are stunning on all craft projects and I love this one.  The flowers are the beautiful Green Tara and you can get all the colours in the Meg's Garden Store.

The quill and ink well have been fussy cut from the patterned papers. The Mesh Ribbon comes in 8 different colours and is also by Green Tara and you can find them in the store as well. They are great colours and I love using them.

The brass pen nibs are perfect with these papers, they are exact to the to the quill en that I have fussy cut. The Lions Head round ring I just love. It looks so cute and I thought it would look like something you might find inside the house. Also in this flower cluster is the Lock 2 Tall.

The other thing I used on my page is a chippie title and I colored it with a Ditress Marker - Aged Mahogany, a great match for the patterned papers.

I hope you have enjoyed popping into Megs Garden and please keep scrolling down and have a look at some of the other wonderful creations by the rest of the design team. There is so much inspiration to be seen and many different uses of the wonderful Meg's Garden products. Thanks so much for stopping in.  Happy Crafting and hugs Brenda xxx

Card and Tag by Brenda Caldow

Hello Craft friends and welcome to Meg's Garden Blog and my post using the very beautiful Sherlock Vol II patterned papers. Wow are these papers stunning, so masculine. When I was creating my card and tag I had my Grandfather in mind. He was a Gardner and for some reason the colours and pictures on these papers reminded me of him.
Now for my card first....

My tag and clock are fussy cut from the patterned papers. On my back ground on top of the patterned paper I used some Sand Mesh Ribbon, then placed a strip of black cardstock which I used a gold pen and placed dots around the edge.
Over this I used a a Prima Vintage Label that I molded from the beautiful moulds that are available in the Meg's Garden Store. There are different designs and I love them all. I have used the paper clay that Meg's Garden Store also have to go with them. They are so easy to make. With this one I decided to use Jet Black Archival Ink on it and then placed Kaisercraft  mini Alpha stickers on the label.
A couple of pieces of Dusty Attic Chippie and then some Black Raffia tied through the tag and it was finished. Ready for the envelope and a special male friend.

Now it's time for my tag.....

Again the beautiful masculine Sherlock Volume II patterned papers, fussy cutting from them and the Black Raffia. The other items I used for this tag are Vintage Mechanical Clock and a china bead.
Both the card and tag are simple but look so nice and the colours are perfect for a guy.

I hope you have enjoyed my card and tag. Please keep scrolling down through the blog and see the other beautiful creations by the design team. There are so many beautiful creations and ideas to inspire you and the Meg's Garden store has everything you need. It's a great way to shop in the comfort of you home while crafting and waiting for the postman with your next goodie pack. Just don't let my husband know II do most of my shopping this way lol.
Happy Crafting friends. xxx

Hello & Welcome
Thank you  for visiting Meg's Garden blog
There is a saying:
'Stop the world I want to get off'
I don't want to get off however I wouldlove it to slow just a little !!!
Recently I traveled to Victoria for a retreat & one of the classes was titled
WHERE IT FALLS
we gathered bits of nature & the created whatever came to mind
I gathered & brought it home to complete
it was such fun to think outside the box a little
& combine the gathered bits with papers
from SHERLOCK JOURNAL VOL II
My base is mdf which is coated in gel medium & crumpled dictionary tissue paper,
I then tore some corrugated cardboard, frayed hessian & inked paper
I continued layering  papers from my stash including a hand made paper
& a printed acetate frame

the ART piece & the alphabet are scraps left from my mini album in another post
the papers are titled SHERLOCK JOURNAL VOL II
I finished my OTP with my gathered pieces of
gum leaves, gumnuts & other strange pieces wire,
broken windscreen, bits of cork & string.
the leaves & nuts are painted with varnish to hold them.

I loved the grunge of these papers

Wedding Treasures by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. I have been very busy making a box for my daughter
to put her wedding treasures in. I made it for her to keep all those wedding items that don't fit into a album. Like a hair clip or wedding personalised cuff links.

I found Megs Gardens lace dollies fitted the box perfectly. Don't be afraid
to cut them up. They are so pretty.

I fussy cut out a butterfly and added glitter to it. When it was nearly
dry I gently folded up the wings.

Inking edges with a dark brown can give the item an aged look.

I used a lot of crystal glitter on the flowers. Made them look like I had just
watered them.

I picked some bracken fern and sprayed it silver. This gives the flowers some fine foliage to go with the flowers.

I had a ball using Megs Garden new moulds. So easy and affective.
I painted mine to look like silver.
If you gently brush the dried paint with some dark ink in the deeper parts and then
wipe of the excess you can achieve an aged look.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a lovely day.
