Eila goes back to Romantic

Hi

Eila changes her style by creating this beautiful layout that she calls 'Angelic'

'I used these papers because they are so romantic and the young lady in the photo is so beautiful, almost angelic. The doilies add to the romantic feeling too. I used the big 20 cm doily as base and the smallest ones in the layers.

The labels and leaves are fussy cut from both the strips of Spring Paisley Collage P6320A, Green Eau de Lavande P6319 and Spring Green Toile P6317.

I have torn uneven pieces from The Spring Paisley Collage P6320 and the Pink Eau de Lavande P6318 papers and layered with the labels and doilies. the music sheet stamping is done with a LaBlanche stamp.'

Beautiful layout Eila - well done. Love the doilies & the very feminine touches

A Seasonal layout by Eila

Hi

Eila continues with her adventures in the mixed media field with this LO she calls Autumn.

Eila explains her technique & products:

'Thank you so so much for sending me the new papers! lovely autumnal colours for us in the northern hemisphere. So what better than actually create a page with that seasonal feeling to it.

I made a mixed media page with strong vibrant colours, very unusual for me but I really like the colour combinations.

My base is water colour paper which I find holds misting and mixed media products better than ordinary cardstock. The frame is made with 4 different washi tapes.

Then I took a square doily from the shop and cut out the centre piece leaving the broad lacey "frame". I used it both as mask with modelling paste and with mists to create the background. On top of that I also smeared out modelling paste go get some light structure before adding the black mist.

The misted doily is then used on the page. Under it I have layered square bits from the Green Paisley Toile P6320 and Pale Pink Paisley P6322 together with an orange paper from My Mind's Eye.

I fussy-cut the leafy tendrils and blooms from the Burgundy Paisley Stripe P6313A strip, didn't want to cut up a whole sheet, and tucked into both floral clusters. The strips work really so well for adding details like these.

The purple velvet violets are also from the store, they are absolutely adorable!

As finishing touches I randomly smeared acrylic paint in gold over the whole page and glued down gold micro beads onto the misted doily.

I hope you will like this rather modern page even if the papers used are not in main focus becuase of the other bold colours used.'

Eila! I am impressed by your adventures - well done
What an exceptional choice of papers & embellishments - love your techniques

The Dolly

Hi

There are so many fabulous elements in this 'Dolly LO' by Yuka.
Look at the clock with the dolly controlling the time.

''I made this layout with some French Garden Collection papers and Cream Lace paper. I made a texture of the brick wall by using a light modeling paste and a stamp ink for the background paper. I cut out gorgeous papers as always, and matched them to three-dimensional embellishments. Wood wreath, pink flowers, butterflies, and flower center are handmade by my friends. ''

Love all the elements in this layout - well done Yuka

Adriana is ready for Spring

Hi

This layout has all the items for spring - colours, birds & vines - so beautiful.

‘Hello there everyone, today I have a layout using the new papers from
Meg's Garden " Spring Paisley Collection"  and what no better way to show off
these lovely papers by doing a Spring layout.

The photo of a vase of flowers is from a lovely card a friend sent to me; I decided to recycle it and use here for my layout.

The papers I have used are:
Green Paisley Stripe P6314
Pink Paisley Flourishes P6315
Pink Eau de lavande P6318
Green Eau de Lavande P6319

The flowers on my layout are created using a flower punch and creating
clusters of them together.  I also used German scrap, paper lace doily, bird images from the collage sheets ; these are all available from Meg's Garden website.
Other materials used are
Imaginarium designs chipboard, inks, Diecuts and punches.’

Beautiful layout Adriana - well done
Love the way you have combined the papers together. The clusters os flowers are gorgeous

Bliss LO by Cathy

Hi

Cathy creates with some of the Le Belle Jardin Collection for a LO and card.. so yummy.

'This month I was inspired to create a Summery LO and card using papers from La Belle Jardin Collection, which have beautiful red, pink and green tones. Bring on Summer.. it's been quite chilly here in Brisbane!!'

BLISS

'I started by punching some strips of the French Bird Cage paper with a border punch to frame my background paper.  I then fussy cut and used some metal dies to cut out a butterfly, some leaf flourishes and a beautiful doily die from the paper and layered them around my photo.  In amongst the layering I have used some of the Dusty Attic flowers and flowers cut from the lace.

I love the Tim Holtz metal embellishments and used the clock face which I painted with gesso and highlighted with Viva precious metal colour to tone in with my LO and attached some pretty heart and key charms to my twine.

The background was created with a Crafter's Workshop stencil and gesso.  While the gesso was still wet, I sprinkled it with some glitter glass to create some lovely texture.

ADORE

The smaller 6x6 papers and ATC papers are perfect for carmaking.  Here I used the Le Belle Jardin and Pink Passion ranges which went beautifully with the French Vintage Couples ATC's to make a romantic vintage card.  I created some softness with muslin and the pretty paper doilies which I layered with some fussy cut flowers, then topped it off with a couple of the Dusty Attic paper flowers.

Meg's Garden product:
Le Belle Jardin Collection - French Bird Cage - P6297
Le Belle Jardin 6x6 paper pk S112
Pink Passion 3407
Vintage French Couples ATC's - ATC035
Forget Me Not tag - TR107
Dusty Attic flowers - grassy knoll
Tim Holtz clock faces, Heart and Key charms
Paper doily - 10cm,Lace 3cm

Other product:  Fabscraps and Crate Paper pp's, White cardstock, KandCo chipboard word, Cheery Lyn & Dienamics metal dies, Martha Stewart border punch, glitter glass, glass beads, Prima bling, gesso, Viva precious metal colour, twine, Carolee Creations tiny alphas, muslin

Thanks for stopping by.
Cathy :)) '

Beautiful by Vicky

Hi

Vicky explains her layout of her very pretty daughter:

'This is a picture of my daughter on her first birthday. Everything on this layout with exception to the chipboard came from Meg's Garden Store. The beautiful are from the "Forget Me Not" and "Le Belle Jardin" collections. I just love how you can mix and match the collections so well.

Here is a close-up of the peek-a-boo lace (great way to use my Green Tara lace scraps!) and the  chipboard title. I used white distress crackle paint and then smudged light yellow and brown chalk ink to give the cracks and edges some definition. See how the papers look hand stamped - so gorgeous!

Here is a close-up of the beautiful blooms and corner vines. I primed the chipboard with gesso and used a few green and brown inks to polish it off. It really makes the delicate white blooms stand out don't you think?'

I agree Vicky, it does make the white blooms stand out .  Your layout is so beautiful - well done!

Yuka shows us how she presents a card

Hi
Yuka describes her project:

'I made a card and an envelope by using Garden of Blue Flowers Collection. When I present someone my card, I thought that I would be better if I made the envelope coordinated with the card. This will become my standard way in the future. :)

Thank you!'

What an exquisite combination & such a beautiful idea & challenge to all papercrafters.
Well done Yuka - love them.  I have never known what to do when I make a card - now I know & will always do a gorgeous envelope to accompany the card.

Thanks you so much

Efficiency is not always good!!

Hi
I spent 1 Sunday afternoon doing all the postings for the projects I had from my fabulous DT ladies & saved them all as drafts.  Having done them all & decided which projects belonged together & those that did not, I felt very happy &, for once, ahead of my 'to do list.

You all know what happened.  I published the posts as needed  not realizing that they posted by draft date & not publish date.  ddddrrrrrr!!!!

I am so sorry for the hassle you have been through for the past 2 weeks wondering what was going on.

Now you know & it will not happen again.  Thanks to Heather & Adriana who put me straight yesterday at lunch.

Bye for now
