LOVE ~ SPRING PASTELS COLLECTION

Hello fellow scrappers, Mary here to share a layout using the beautiful new SPRING PASTELS COLLECTION

For this layout I also created a tag from the Cut and Create Sheet . I originally was going to place the tag next to the photo of my Aunt and Uncle on their wedding day, but I did not want to cover the gorgeous image of the lady on the PP, so moved the tag further down on my page. This Range is so pretty and soft.

I made my tag on a piece of cardboard just ripped from the pizza box that my kit came in.  Painted it with black gesso and then sprayed with white mist and rose and gold mist , some perfect pearls , added lace and organza ribbon from Megs Shop and the image and Dream sentiment from the cut and create sheet.

I cut around the image of the butterfly with a craft knife  enough that the frame could sit without covering the butterfly image. The Love title is again from the Cut and Create sheet , have I mentioned before how many beautiful images come on one sheet ! Ribbon , flowers and the bit of lace you can see peeping through the frame are all from Megs Garden Shop.
I really love this range. I kept this layout relatively simple and clean because the paper is so pretty.
I hope you pop over to the shop and check out this gorgeous range, so pretty !
Until next time
Happy Creating

Awesome - Karen McLaughlin

Hi Meg's Garden Fans - Karen back with you today.  Who said we cannot use flowers on a masculine page?  I just adore the colours.  They are from the Spring Pastels collection.  I have used 2 papers from and have layered them and used one of my punches to give the edges some interest.  I have also used flowers and ribbon from Meg's shop.

This is just a close up of some fussy cutting I did from the papers.

Thank you for dropping by and taking a look at my creation.  I hope I have given you some inspiration to make some gorgeous projects using this lovely collection.  Did you know Meg's Store also does Bundles of Goodies?  So much loveliness in one package.  Until next time.  Stay safe - Karen xx

A WINDOW IN TIME ~ VINTAGE JOURNAL RANGE

Hello Mary here , gosh the year is fast slipping away ! Today I would like to share a layout and card using the Vintage Journal Range.

A WINDOW IN TIME

I was inspired to create this layout by the image of the clock on the Pattern Paper, perfect for my photo of the clock window at the Musee D Orsay in Paris.

Image fussy cut from the Cut and create that I have added to the top of my photo. So many beautiful images from the cut and create, there is heaps of images to add to layouts and cards from one sheet.

Flowers , and the little gold butterfly are from Megs Shop as is the lace and postcard image that I have cut from the Cut and Create Images
I have used quite a bit of mix media on this layout, Megs products go with all styles.

And now a masculine card , created with the Vintage Journal Range. Once again I have fussy cut images from the Cut and Create Paper and added organza ribbon and the inspire charm all from Megs Garden Shop.
Below a cut and create sheet, as you can see you get soooo many images on a sheet .

and my masculine card

I hope you have been inspired to visit  Megs Shop and create your own amazing projects.
Until next time , happy creating

Spring Pastels - A Winter Scene

I started out with the idea of making a Christmas card, but I think this card could be a card for all occasions.
mgsub-2-bird-1-2
I cut black cardstock to 5 1/2″ x 10″ to make a 5 1/2″ x 5″ card base.  I layered this with a piece of Meg’s Garden spring pastels collection paper. The paper I chose has soft blues and greys and features branches without leaves, so it made a perfect winter backdrop for the grouping of birds. I used a snow marker on some of the branches on the paper, and dotted snow around the outer edges.
The birds were fussy cut from the same Spring Pastels Collection as my previous post, I think you’ll agree they make a cute focal point for this card.
mg-sub-2-birds-1
My bird group is popped up on foam squares to add dimension to the layout. This is difficult to photograph so you will need to trust me on this.
I think the little ribbon banner draped back and forth across the card is my favourite part, I cut along one edge of the Flower Edge Organza Ribbon to make the banner. Finally a thin grey/pink organza ribbon bow was added to the left hand side to finish.
I invite you to take a tour of  Meg’s Garden and see for yourself this beautiful and versatile paper collection, ribbon embellishments and much more here
From Meg’s Garden:
  • Spring Pastels Collection Paper
  • Bird group cut from same paper collection
  • Flower Edge Organza ribbon
  • 1/8″ Organza ribbon grey/pink
other items from personal collection
