All you need is Lace

Hi Everyone,

It always feels like Christmas when a new collection is released! I have had great fun creating with the new Vintage Journal Cards, 3x4" in size and just perfect for all your projects.

I have used the Vintage Flowers series for my cards, and also Meg's A4 watercolour paper that I absolutely love - so versatile, as you will see!

Meg also has new laces to tempt us all. What can you not do with lace?! For this card, I have made the Journal Cards a feature, and also created a background using the watercolour paper and lace. Effective, unique and so feminine.

Using the blue watercolour paper as my base, I then cut strips of lace and placed over top, allowing the watercolour to still show through and adding lovely texture that only lace can.
Before adhering, I also placed die cuts from cardstock underneath, slightly muted by the lace. Having lace as a base also ensured the beautiful Vintage Flowers Journal Cards were the standout feature.

Embellishing was easy with Meg's wide variety of charms, ribbon, flowers - you name it - available. Keeping in tonal blues, I clustered flowers and a charm together, mounted on top of another die cut, and finished with adding a sentiment and pearls.

Remember I mentioned how versatile the A4 watercolour paper is? Well, let me share another use with you. I have used one page, cut to size, as an insert for inside my card. Not only is it decorative and adds a touch of luxe, but with the watercolour muted tone it is the perfect base to write your message to the lucky person receiving the card!

Enjoy creating with the new Journal Cards!

All You Need is Love

Hello Mary here to share a layout with the A4 Spring Pastel PP

I have placed the A4 PP to a white piece of cardstock and added the flower pattern through a stencil with texture paste down each side.

I have placed my photo on the envelope image from a cut and create sheet and placed this on a embossed piece of cardstock and tucked the all you need is love sentiment behind the photo from a cut and create sheet.
The Mesh ribbon adds some more texture and then I've added a double bow of Mauve and silver , attached the little gold Key charm & the flower trailing down which I have fussy cut from the cut and create sheet.

Another layout for the album. Megs Store has beautiful Papers and embellishements to document all those special occasions.
Thank you for calling by and Happy Creating

Vintage Journal Cards

Hello Mary here to share with you what I created with the New Vintage Journal cards that Meg has in the store. This time I decided  to create a Post Card with the Vintage Journal Card image

Meg has the lined paper in the store and I have cut to a post card size and added the vintage Journal card image to one side of the card and have the lined PP to the opposite side to write the name and address details

This lined paper would also be great for journals

To the back I have the lined PP to write your letter and the image from the cut and create sheet as  a decorative stamp .
Now I can write my Pen Pal a letter pop it in a envelope and she has a personalized post card . Simple, effective and unique.
I am sure you can think of other creative ways to use the Vintage Journal cards in your creative process.
Happy Creating

So in Love with You ~ Spring Pastels

Hello Mary here today to share a layout created with the A4 Spring Pastels  Range

So in Love with You

The inspiration for my page started with the gorgeous Vintage Print on Vellum Image .I received it in the last Package of DT goodies and I was instantly drawn to the colours and then the sentiment ~ So in Love with You inspired me to create another page for my Daughters wedding album and how divine is the Spring Pastel PP !

I used the "Love" sentiment from the Cut and Create sheet which I shaded with mauve ink and also added the elegant lady from a Cut and Create sheet at the side of my photo.

In amongst the flowers I have made a bow with sheer ribbon and also placed Dodo vine wire and a couple of fussy cut flowers from the cut and create sheet

I was really happy with how this layout turned out.
And because I hate to waste anything and had some paint left on my palette whilst doing a project I created a tag with a beautiful image from the Vintage Beauties Cut and Create Sheet along with the Dream Sentiment, I can now add this to a layout or a card.
You can find so many beautiful products at Megs Store for all your creating needs.

Mixed Media Canvas

Hello everyone! I hope that you are keeping well. With each of the collections available at Meg's Garden, a special addition are the cut and create ephemera sheets.  I had a few left over from a few collections and I decided to use them as a collage to create a mixed media canvas.

I fussy cut the images with my scissors and adhered them using Prima's soft matte gel.
I used some stamps by Tim Holtz to create my background, and some of Kaisercraft's texture stamps to add a vintage look to the canvas.
I used inks and papers that were of similar colour when I was planning my design. It was also complimented with brown to add a vintage aged look.

After completing one canvas, I had a lot of fussy cut pieces left over so I made another canvas.

I linked images that had a similar watercolour look.

I also wanted the butterfly to be a main focus for the canvas.
Again, I used Prima sprays in the background, and kept them as muted as possible to keep in the same style as the main images.
The same techniques of adhering the images was used and the same stamps were used to create the background.

Vintage Floral Journal Cards from Rose

Hello Bloggers
Our latest Guest on the Design Team is Rose Parker (aka my sister). I sent her a pack of the Vintage Journal Cards - Floral along with some ribbons, patterned papers, flowers etc.

These are the 2 cards she made using the Blue Florals:

They are both done on white cardstock with 2 different blue cardstock mat layers

Card #1:
The little book on the front sits on a large white die cut frame on a torn embossed blue-grey mat; as well as a white curved die cut border strip at the bottom on a torn white corrugated paper.

The little book uses the same blue-grey cardstock & carries the colour of the torn mat.  On the front is the Blue Bird Floral card embellished with 2 corners in the same cardstock: it is embellished with blue iris satin ribbon & 2 white silk flower forget me nots. The little book has plain paper inserts held in by the satin ribbon tie - you could also use lined paper, some poetry, pics or a special message.

Card #2:
Many layers on this one:  The first is an embossed white panel that goes the full width of the card & about 2/3 down topped with a torn pale blue-grey cardstock square, a blue small envelope & then a white die cut decorative circle.  At the bottom of the card is a  piece of lace topped with a strip of white torn corrugated paper & a strip of border punched cardstock has been used on the bottom of the card embellished with 2 pearls.  The front of the card has a small organza bow with a white paper lily & a blue paper wild rose.

The Vintage Floral Journal Card is mounted on the pale blue-grey cardstock (same as the mat), then a white cardstock mat with the borders punched edges & a double ribbon used as an opener.

The pic below shows how the front looks with the Vintage card open - the envelope can hold whatever you want.  The top pic shows the Vintage Card closed (magnet on both sides).

Hope you enjoy her cards - there are 4 more to be shown - each different, all with many layers & lots of ideas

Bye for now
Meg - sister of Rose

PS. The Floral Vintage Journal Cards have been used in our First Card Kit
