Charming

So many dresses, so many places for a Lady to go!

The perfectly poised lady fitted beautifully into an oval chipboard frame, which has been painted antique gold.
Two more ovals of increased proportionate size complemented the frame.

Background paper from A Lady's Diary collection was laid down first. Then the complimenting ovals, followed by the lady in the oval.

The card was finished off with delicate lace edging, two ribbons of various widths, finally cream paper flowers and a sentiment.

Advertising images from A Lady's Diary collection overlayed onto the base of the card formed the background for this unusual card. Six images in total were used, edges inked in sepia.

Over these images was a fine layer of distressed muslin and topped with vellum, giving a muted whimsical look.

For drama, three beautiful filigree metal charms adhered to the vellum, a narrow gilt chain linked the charms together, and delicate apricot coloured paper flowers finished the look.

Papers, cut and create images, ribbons and laces, plus the beautiful filigree charms available from Meg's Garden today.

There is a surprise in there...

Hello everyone & welcome.

I hope you are doing as well as can be expected in this current situation.

I have been a little low with my creative flow of late but did manage to finally create a couple of projects that I would like to share with you.

I have created these with Meg's Garden patterned papers & ephemera sheets from the paper collection called A Lady's Diary.

I have created a box card.

The view from the back. The lace is optional as a closure as you could create a belly band instead.

Decorated inside.

There is plenty of room inside for a gift card, money, movie or theatre tickets, an invitation or all of the above. What a lovely gift to give to someone to use when all of this craziness has gone. I know I would love that, and to find a lovely surprise hidden inside I think nothing would be nicer, don't you.

I love to turn a plain gift bag into something a little special. A perfect place to hide that box of chocolates or two...

Until next time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Stay safe & well. We will get through this.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Floral Plaque

Sprays of the most stunning velvet flowers and leaves from Meg's Garden inspired this unusual piece.

Simple, but effective.
Finished with pink shimmering ribbon and bow, perfect to now hang from a door handle or on the wall.
A crystal head hat pin spiked through a Love sentiment embellishes, whilst also holding the sentiment in place.

For added drama, the lower corner features a paper doily and gold cherub.

For the most exquisite embellishments and paper collections, stroll through Meg's Garden for endless possibilities.

Sharing the love of creating ...with some handmade cards

Hello everyone & welcome.

I hope you are all coping with self isolating.
Here in Australia we are going through the different stages of self isolating.
For me I love to garden and to create. So I will be getting some vitamin D & some exercise outside in the garden and I will give my brain a workout creating & to help it find a sense of peace & calm.
What ever you do stay safe & well.

I have created 3 cards with Meg's Gardens latest patterned paper collection called A Lady's Diary.

To create my first card I have used the following items pictured.

Next you will need to create a card base from card stock that measures 5 1/2" x 11".
Then score as follows: 2 1/4", 3 5/8", 7 3/8", 8 3/4".
Fold as follows: V, M, M, V, then burnish each fold.

Your card base should look like this.

Add your layers and then decorate.

My 2nd card.

To create this card I have used the following items.

The card base measures 5 1/2" x 11". Then score at 2 3/4", 8 1/4" fold and burnish each fold.

Add layers of patterned papers & embellishments.

Card No.3

My card stock measures 5 1/2" x 11".
Fold in half to create the card base.
Add patterned papers & embellishments.

Stop by Meg's Garden online store for lots of patterned papers & embellishments to create your very own paper craft projects.

Plus here is a picture of some of the flowers in my garden.

Until next time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.

Pretty in Pink

Using Meg's Garden latest collection, A Lady's Diary, I have created another two cards in one of my favourite colours - Pink!

The Lady in her pink evening dress is the centre piece of this card.

Starting with a delicate square doily, the stunning image is framed by a detailed die cut. Both die cut and doily are inked in rose pink.

The card is finished with ribbon bows, toning paper flowers and a 'Happy Birthday' sentiment.

For something different, I created a folding card to feature the beautiful papers within this collection.

Using the intricate lace images on the paper as inspiration, I superimposed lace edging over the designs, topped with narrow cream ribbon.

One half of the card is folded, giving the stand up effect.
A cut and create image from a previous of Meg's collections formed the background for the floral mount on the front of the stand up.

Holding the folded piece in place, an exquisite filigree metal embellishment.

Additional elements of design include a beautiful hat pin, shreds of muslin and pink and cream paper flowers with matching narrow ribbon bow.

Oval Elegance

Oh to have a waist so small! The stunning new A Lady's Diary collection from Meg's Garden is inspirational.

The aqua in the dress toned in beautifully with the blue shades throughout this collection, which I used as my background.

I layered matt silver cardstock and an oval lacy die cut to feature the evening dress image.

Add to this, a silver flower, diamonte bling, aqua ribbon on opposite corners, finished with a flourish of aqua paper flowers.

The image of the three ladies in their satin and lace day dresses was the inspiration for the lilac oval card.

Cotton lace edging highlighted the oval die cut. The cardstock was stamped with a muted damask design and purple velvet ribbon formed a border on two sides.

The oval card was then mounted on lilac backing paper and finished with wisteria coloured paper flowers.
