Sandie creates with Forget Me Nots

Hello
Sandie is totally over the moon - her current project using the latest papers cannot be shown here because it is being published in Scrapbooking Creations #93. We are going to have to wait until then.

Meanwhile she did do a card which matches her little accordion book project perfectly.

'Forget Me Not' Card
Sandie says:  ' I created the card using the Card Makers Pack of the 'Forget Me Not' Collection.  Fussy cut flowers enhance one corner and are slightly rounded for dimension.  The border on the bottom area of the card was created using 'Shades of Blue' and 'Butterflies and Blue Forget Me Nots' 12 X 12 paper from 'Forget Me Not' collection. Pearls were added for embellishing.
The main picture is from the 'Elements 2' A4 - 'Forget Me Not' Collection of papers.'

Meg's Garden Products:
Card Makers Pack 'Forget Me Not' Collection
'Shades of Blue' 12 X 12
'Butterflies and Blue Forget Me Nots' 12 X 12
Elements 2, A4 Paper 'Forget Me Not' Collection

Other products:
Cardstock, Distress Ink 'Walnut Stain', Pearls, Martha Stewart Punch Set 'Cherished'

Love it Sandie - the embellishment really enhances the image; your choice of cardstock & the punching around the edge is so elegant, the pearls on the flowers a beautitul finish.

Well done & congrats on the 'Being Published' accolade

Cathy plays with the Forget Me Nots

Hello - today we welcome Cathy

'Hi Girls,
Well this is my first post as a Design Team Member for Meg's Garden. and I’m very excited to be part of Meg’s amazingly talented team of ladies.  This month Meg sent us her gorgeous new paper collection called  "Forget Me Not" to work with and I decided to create a LO and a card.  One of my favourite techniques is fussy cutting and Meg's papers are just perfect for this.  I feel like I have died and gone to heaven.

Dream

Meg%27s+Garden+April+-+Dream.jpg (1600×1595)

I love to take photos of my daughter... when she'll let me, and I find I nearly always have greenery or flowers in  my backgrounds.  So when I received my parcel, I knew instantly that I would use a pic from a recent photo shoot.  This photo has some lovely grey and green tones, which go beautifully with the new range of Forget Me Not papers.  So I pulled out my trusty scissors and went to town, cutting some of  the beautiful flowers, birds and butterflies. I also added a bird cage from the Green Toile range.  Love the softness you can create with a touch of white, which was created with some gorgeous lace and the pretty lace paper doilies.'

List of Materials:
Meg's Garden:  Forget Me Nots Collection- Blue Butterflies, Nesting, Butterflies and Blue Forget Me Nots, Green Toile pp, 10cm paper doily, LaBlanche Wrought Iron Fence stamp, 1.6cm white lace
Other: Basic Grey pp, K and Co chipboard word, Crafter's Workshop stencil, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Versamagic ink, Inkessentials crackle medium, Glimmermist, paper rose, Ranger stickles, Tim Holtz distress ink, Acetate, Stazon ink

Thinking of You

Meg%27s+Garden+April+-+Thinking+of+You.jpg (1600×1092)

I am often inspired by pattern papers when I create and I love to mix different ranges together.  I loved the stripey pattern on the Birds in Forget Me Nots paper and used it as the background for my card.  The pretty white blossoms on the Nesting strip have a lovely Spring feel, so I thought the reverse side of the Graphic 45 Fashionista Perfumeries paper which has a vibrant green check would create a lovely fresh contrast and add to the Spring theme. I couldn’t resist the paper lace doily and a bit of lace for a bit more contrast.

List of Materials:
Meg's Garden:  Forget Me Nots Collection- , Nesting, Butterflies and Blue Forget Me Nots, Birds in Forget Me Nots,  Graphic 45 Fashionista- Perfumeries, Debutante, Vintage French Ladies ATC's, 10cm paper doilies, LaBlanche clock stamp, 1cm off white lace,
Other:  Spellbinders Picot Edge Circle Die, EK Success circle punch, Versamagic ink, Red binding ribbon, paper rose, Ranger stickles

Beautifully done Cathy. I love the distressing on the layout with the hint of the doilies peeping through;  the strip pretending to be ribbon with the end cut & curled & edged with lace; and the overlap on the photo with the fussy cut pieces.

Also really love the card with its green & red contrast sitting on a lace doily - very unexpected but works so well.

Well done CathyBye for now

Yuka shows us the 'Love of My Life'

Hi
Yuka, from Japan, shows us a very beautiful layout using the latest collection.
Love the strip of paper down the side of the layout with a frame & a chippie titling the project.
The combination of flowers with the flourish & a hint of burgundy is just gorgeous

Yuka says:  'Meg's Garden papers are perfect fit for fussy cutting. I used many cut-out images from The Forget Me Not Collection. I also used a white card stock for the background, to match it to the photo full of light. To create the background to this layout I used modeling paste and  mists.

Thank you!

This layout has so many elements - the background, the cutouts, flowers & chippies.
Well done, Yuka - very elegant

Birdhouse treat Box

Hi

Birdhouse Treat Box

Vicky continues with her use of the Forget Me Nots paper collection by creating a Birdhouse

'I am so excited to be doing my very first post for the Meg's Garden Design Team!

I modified my own template from my gingerbread house box that I made for Christmas and came up with this cute little birdhouse box and the roof is actually a card. The box is made of one 12x12 sheet of paper from the brand new "Forget Me Not" collection. Meg's Garden also sells gorgeous trims, laces and flowers.  Here I used cherry blossoms, paper leaves, lace and trim. The bird was cut out of another paper from the collection and I watercolored it blue to match and added feathers.'

'Since Meg's garden prints on long sheets, you get not only a 12x12 but also a 4x12 strip with every paper in the collection. 4x12 is a perfect size for cards! I used the coordinating strip for the outside of the birdhouse roof.'

'Here is the underside of the roof - I created a card by glueing another excess paper strip (from another paper in the collection) - which is the inside of the card. The paper is so beautiful that all it needed was a stamped phrase. To attach the card just use a clamp clip to the top of the box and decorate with lace/trim'

What a gorgeous Birdhouse & thanks to Vicky for the project & also the pattern on her blog - there are so many variations that can be done.  Christmas as a Gingerbread house is perfect, Easter, parties, a Tim Holtz grunge, a cottage garden with twigs, a Parisian birdhouse & more ....

Well done Vicky & it is great to have you on the DT.

Bye for now

life's beautiful

Hi

Today's project is from Vicky Alberto. Her card is absolutely stunning, very elegant embellishments & her use of the paper is perfect.

She says:  'I am so excited that the Meg's Garden "Forget Me Not" collection includes some amazing vintage image elements sheets - this is a card maker's dream. Combined with a striped 4x12 strip from the collection, it was easy to pull together an elegant card. I added some pretty cherry blossoms, twisted organza/pearl trim and tassel trim, plus a stamped title.

Here is the image sheet I cut the pretty picture from.

This is a view of the outside of the card. The inside is still blank (until I decide who to give it to). You can never have enough blank cards for all those unexpected occasions that seem to pop up!

Thanks for stopping by today while I share my little project.
Vicky. '

The card is so elegant Vicky - a beautiful choice of complementary embellishments in very subtle tones to highlight the paper - well done.  A great reminder to us all that life is certainly beautiful.
Vicky has another project to show us next.

Bye for now

The Forget Me Not Collection done by Gabi

Hi

Gabi from Canada uses the Forget me Not Collection on her very beautiful & elegant layout.

Gabi says: 'Almost everything on the page is from the Meg's Garden store except for one flower and a piece of chipboard.  Most of it is from the Forget Me Not collection but I did use a frame that I cut out from the Collage Cartouche paper, and a little bundle of Lily of the Valley from the French Vintage Postcards ATC's. '

Title: Two Cute

Supplies used from Meg's Garden Shop:
Patterned Paper: The Forget Me Not collection (Shades of Blue P6302, Butterflies & Blue Forget Me Nots P6304, Blue Forget Me Nots P6298A, Blue Butterflies P6299A), Collage Cartouche 3402 (Frame cut out)
French Vintage Floral Postcards ATC036
Paper Lace Doilies
Ivory Paper Roses
White Lace 1.6 cm
Mulberry Petals (green)
Pale Pink Jazz Fibres

'These beautiful papers just call for fussy cutting.
I love to cut out the butterflies and add some stickles to add a little sparkle and texture.

I also very lightly moistened parts of the paper in order to crinkle it back a bit and allow the paper doilies to peek out.   The photo is one that I took of my two girls a few months ago when we went to an apple festival.  They are 3 years apart in age but I love that they still like to (sometimes) spend time with each other :)

Gabi xx'

Well done Gabi. I love the all the embellishments you have used - the 3D butterflies are exquisite; the water softened paper scrunched to allow the paper lace doily to peep through is a fabulous idea; the distressed edges & corners are very beautifully done. Your fussy cutting is perfection & everything ties together beautifully.  Your girls are so pretty.

My sincere apologies to Gabi & to blogland - I had her blog link incorrect - have now fixed it.

Denise Ann uses her papers in a Folded card

Hello

You will rarely see Denise Ann fold a piece of cardstock down the centre to create a card.  If it is folded in half, then just watch out for the next step very carefully before you miss it.

This card, using one of her new papers from The Forget Me Not Collection is a perfect example of how she creates a unique card.  She has also used 2 of the new LaBlanche stamps - the Victorian Swirl & the post from the Elegant Gate - both these stamps are wonderful in whole & parts.

This card is so beautiful.  The embossed detail on the cover, the fussy cutting on the Forget Me Nots & the detailed elements on the inside of the card are exceptional & a challenge to creativity.

Well done Denise Ann
