Denise is one of the 'Queens of Cards'

Hi
This is the 1st of Denise Ann's cards using the Forget Me Not Collection of papers she designed.

' I have created five cards using the Forget Me Not Collection & Le Belle Jardin Collection from the Mini paper cardmakers packs.  I have combined tthem with some Vintage French Floral Postcard collage paper images. The stamps are from Stamp-it, La Blanche, Stampin Up and B Line. I have dyed the binding ribbon with Gimmermists spray and arranged them with pins of Jewels, charms and chipboard. German glass glitter in Blush colour is used as a highlighter to the flowers. Round doilies are used in the backgrounds.'

The next few posts will show why she has earned that name.

Very beautiful Denise - well done

Happiness by Heather

Hello

'Layout by By Heather J.  “Happiness”
My title ‘Happiness’ expresses how I feel when surrounded by nature, flowers and my garden. From a very early age I discovered that through solitude, information was received and truths spoken. The magic I feel when working in my garden is so real .  The ‘Gifts of growth’,  soothe my soul.
For this layout I decided to use the beautiful red/pink charm of  Le Belle Jardin collection P6297.  I wanted to showcase the papers to demonstrate how Meg’s papers can also be used to create a layout without lots of fussy cutting . The birdcage and  1 flower, are the only fussy cutting on this page, with the remaining paper being cut into strips and edged with borderpunches.

I grow both red and pink flowers and this collection reminded me of my passion for nature . I used a combination of this beautiful collection with a strip of The Antionette Collection Scroll Rose Delight 3381. The paper doilies look so delicate and soft against the strong colors of the paper along with the contrast of the white cardstock .
I created some funky flowers with the Tim Holtz die cuts and added some Kaiser black sparklets and blossoms .. I just adore the velvet flowers from Meg’s  they add such richness and texture to a page. I chopped the flourish into pieces/ inked in black  and arranged around my photo'

Another Wedding - this time Adriana

Hi

“The Bride”

Adriana says, “I wanted to create some pages of my wedding for some time, but never got around to it. So here is a page of me as the Bride, 14 years ago. That was a very special day for me, one that I will always treasure. On that day it was raining the whole day and we had a Garden Wedding, but lucky for all of us, it stopped raining just for that 45 minutes to perform the ceremony.

Heaven answered my prayers. Then we had 120 guests all for a Wedding Lunch, it rained the time we were inside the function centre, but it didn’t matter to us, we were inside and had a wonderful time.”

I dyed the laces with glimmermist. I also created a silver/blue rose with Forget Me Not papers and stamens using the Tim Holtz tattered florals die cut. I love the combination of pink and green papers, so soft and pretty.

 Materials used from MEG'S GARDEN.
Fringe with tassels – antique green and gold
Lace from Meg’s garden – sprayed with glimmermist.

Elements

Hi

The DT seems to be on a roll this week using the Element paper from Forget Me Not Collection #1.
Gayle shows us her artistic interpretation using this same paper.

'This is a page I have done for Once Upon A Sketch where I've used the Forget Me Not Papers....it's sort of a "dark" page. I'm happy with how it's turned out.'

'The theme was "Friend". The journalling which is on the back reads;  " A friend is born of many things, but the foundation is trust. A true friend is the one you trust with your deepest, darkest secrets."
The papers I've used are from the Forget Me Not Collection 1& 2. When I first looked at these two girls I thought how sweet and pretty, but as I studied the image for a while and their expressions it was as if the dark haired girl was shamefully confessing to a secret while the other was listening intently. So it is with the closest and most trusted of friends that we confide in.
The lace and gold German scrap is also from Meg's Garden. The lace has been misted with Perfect Pearls and the German Scrap has had a Ranger Metal Patina rubbed over it.'

This is a fascinating page Gayle - some extremely interesting elements to it. Love the embellishing, the addition of lace & the dark metal doors.  There is definitely a secret.

Well done.
What a fascinating collection of projects using the same image.  Which one is your favourite? Please let us know!

Love, Cherish, Adore

Hi
Sandy has been very busy - she does a gorgeous layout & an accompanying card.

'Love, Cherish, Adore Layout
My layout this month was created using various papers from 'The Forget Me Not Collection', the background paper being 'Delicate Blue' with a cardstock background. A variety of flowers were coloured using a Glimmer Mist, and at times Distress Inks to create depth and warmth. Burgundy Forget Me Not flowers, and tiny punched flowers were used as fillers. Meg's Garden has a beautiful array of guipure laces, and these were added into the layout to create a frame of sorts.
Meg's Garden Products:
The Forget Me Not Collection 'Delicate Blue' and 'Birds In Forget Me Nots'.
Forget Me Not Flowers - 'Burgundy
Laces: Wide and Medium Width Cream Laces.
Flowers: Forget Me Nots 'Antique Blue'
Paper Flowers: Medium and Small Cream Roses,Fabric Flower
Other: Kaisercraft Roses, Martha Stewart Punches, Imaginarium Designs - 'Love, Cherish, Adore', and Corner Flourishes Chipboard, Glimmer Mist, Distress Inks, Pearl Beads'

Baby Girl Accordion Book

Hi
Gayle has done wonders with an accordion book kit.

Front of Book

Back of Book

Gayle explains:  'I absolutely loved making this little book. There is not a lot of embellishment, mainly because the paper is so detailed and doesn't need much but also because I didn't want the book getting too bulky.
This little project is all about the NEW FORGET ME NOT COLLECTION of papers and the beautiful range of PAPER LACE DOILIES and PAPER LACE STRIPS that Meg supplies.
Meg sent me one of her little accordion  books, and guess what..............? the gorgeous mini square paper lace doilies are the exact size for the pages in this accordion book. What could make a more perfect background for photos of little girls; and you don't have to spend time cutting out doilies on your Cricket or Cuttlebug. As well as these doilies being the perfect size and so pretty, they also make into the sweetest little lacy envelopes; so simple to make and perfect for holding extra photos or pieces of journalling that you might want to include in your book.
The cover of the book has a double lace "ruffle" across the top made from one of Meg's long paper lace strips. I just pleated it, not accurately, just roughly as I was after a "shabby" look, taped it across the back to hold the pleats in place and then softly coloured it with Distress Ink and a paint brush dipped in water. This paper takes colour well but it is fragile and you have to be careful not to get it too wet. Once dried off with a heat gun though it fuffs up into beautiful lace ruffles.
The word Adore and the transparency tag are from the new Forget Me Not range. Also on the front are some gorgeous VIOLA VELVET FLOWERS AND LEAVES.
Inside the front cover the metal heart charm and pink velvet ribbon are from Meg's Garden and the beautiful letters are from the Forget Me Not Range of alphabets.
In fact this book has been made entirely from papers, ribbons, flowers, doilies, letters, words and charms all exclusively from Meg's Garden.'

Lots of ideas for our viewers.

Denise does a Layout

Hello

While we are using the very elegant striped paper from the 1st FMN Collection, I thought you would like to see Denise Ann with her husband.

She is using Shades of Blue P6302 with some fussy cutting of butterfies & flowers, a punched edging;  & LaBlanche stamped & embossed  & a strip from P6304

We are seeing so many options using the same papers - it is quite incredible.

Thanks you Denise for this really beautiful layout

Yuka's Free Spirit

Hi

And what a gorgeous little 'Free Spirit' she is.

Yuka explains her layout:

"First of all, I divided the Delicate Blue paper of The Forget Me Not Collection 2 into four. And, after united of each, I roundly cut it. I used many cut-out images from The Forget Me Not Collection 1 and 2. I cut out Bond square of Paper Lace Doilies small according to the design. I add a color to them, and changed them into embellishments. "

What a beautiful layout - well done Yuka!!  Love how you made all of the embellishments.  The  layering is divine & there are so many elements to the whole - each of the pieces of doily are so unique.  I have not seen pieces of a doily done this way before.
Just gorgeous & so different using a circle for the layout

Vicky's Wedding

Hi

'This is one of my favorite wedding day pictures, taken right after the ceremony. The journaling on the back reads "On December 1st, 2011, we vowed to be best friends for life and we still are". Hubby and I really are best friends... we were even room-mates in school 16 years ago so... we truly don't know how to live apart. I used gorgeous papers from Meg's Garden "Forget me not 2" collection as well as some beautiful lace, flowers and velvet leaves from the store on this layout. I really adore the soothing colors and graphics in this paper collection. Please note that this layout was created for the Once Upon a Sketch July design team reveal.

Here is a close-up of the embellishments -
the chipboard is from my shop.

Thanks for joining me today on the blog!

Vicky Alberto'

What a beautiful layout. I think that Vicky must be nominated for the 'Queen of Distressing' - how awesome & marvellous.  Thank you so much Vicky for sharing this one with us - well done
