'Hello Meg's Garden Fans, Linda back with you again today to

share a cute little gift box.

I'm enjoying created with the wonderful Megs Garden products, they truly are beautiful.

I started with the Dreaming in Lavenders paper from the Dreaming in Meadows collection and covered the bottom half of the box in the solid section of the paper, then cutting out a border piece from the flowers and leaves.

I glued the paper to the bottom of the box then added foam dots to the border piece to give it more dimension. I also added a few random leaves cut from the paper into the border.

Then I covered just the top of the box lid in paper, and added some lace and trim to hide any edge bits that may be showing.

I added a Drawer pull handle to the top of the box & a Lion head knocker to the side.

Topping the top with flowers and a butterfly then applied a small amount of purple ink to the lace & Gesso here and there all over.

Calling this a 'cute' box is a total understatement - it is simply gorgeous & what a fabulous way to give a gift.
Well done Linda - it is beautiful & the photos are really great & show us all the elements of the project.  The top of the box is a wonderful collection of flowers & leaves topped with a beautiful butterfly.  Love the fussy cutting around the bottom. Wow!

A Shabby Chic Cupboard from Jen

Jen explains her 'cupboard':

'Hi everyone, as soon as I saw this little vintage children's cupboard I knew The Dreaming in Roses paper from Meg's Garden would be perfect to refurbish it. I started by sanding it down to get a smooth surface. I cut and glued all the papers to the cupboard and then attached some lace and a doily from my own collection.. I used Meg's gorgeous pearl trim to accentuate the shelves and top. I also used the gorgeous velvet flowers on the shelves and side. I gave the mini tray a goat of Gesso to make it white, then added some pink distress ink to add some colour. I used one of my dies and framed my vintage photo with more of the Dreaming in Roses paper. I just love this collection. I hope you like my shabby chic vintage cupboard. Until next time, Jen xxx'

 What a serious project you undertook but Jen it was so well done. I know that no-one will be allowed to touch it. It is so beautiful & the Dreaming in Roses was the perfect choice of paper with its delicateness.

A Vintage Trinket Box from Stephanie

Stephanie shows us a fabulous idea for the upcoming season of gift giving - a box is an ideal spot for a combination of goodies that are difficult to package.

'Hi everyone, it's Stephanie here today to share a vintage trinket box that I made using a small box I got at a local dollar store. Before doing any altering on the box I painted the inside and outside of the box with a layer of Gesso.

 I then gave the outside and lid of the box a pink crackle paint effect; it’s a little hard to see the crackle effect in these photos. 

I love fussy cutting the flowers from the “Summer Bouquet” papers which I did for this altered trinket box and glued them down to the outside of the box. I then took some of the off white lace and used some Tea Dye distress ink to give the lace an older vintage look to it and then glued it down on the side of the top of the box.

 I used two of the Burgundy roses and two of the Rose Pink roses and three of the Dusty Attic medium paper leaves glued them to the top of the box.

 I had a couple of the wire stems which I twisted up and then popped them into the flower cluster.'

Reverse Canvas by Sandra

Sandra shares her gorgeous reverse bridal canvas with us & explains how she created it:

'I started with an 8” X 10” canvas with a side depth of 1 ½”, turned it over and prepared the inside surface with Gel Medium before adhering the Dreaming in Duck Eggs Blue. I fussy cut some of the leaves and flowers and also the flourish to use in the centre and outside of frame.

I used texture paste and a template to add texture to the outside of the frame before applying glimmermist in three different colours.  I wanted a softer look so applied gesso straight over the top of the glimmermist.

  The next step was to adhere the pearls from the Vintage Beauty Pack.

  The colour of the Cornsilk Blooms shows the colour after misting.

I included a bit of bling using the Flower silver trim and some rhinestones and I also wanted to include some of the tulle from the bride’s veil. 

 To balance the frame I made a banner from the Dreaming in Duck Eggs Blue patterned paper and inked the edges before applying the bling and

 threading the pearls.

The lace has been trimmed to give a softer edge and to mimic the design in the tiara.

When Meg's Garden becomes Versaille's Garden

This is what Sylvie calls this small shabby chic card and its matching box envelope & she explains this beautiful project: 

 

I cut in differents papers: Birds in Forget me Nots P6303A, Old Writing from the Element Collection, Old World Time 1037; Summer Beauty from the Ode to a Summer's Day Collection, Antoinette 3373A.

This is what I like about Meg's Garden papers; there are so many small patterns that can be kept & all the paper falls to create  an entire  project... I love above all flowers and foliage..Just take a look at the card frame or the Eiffel Tower embellishment at the  back of the card to see how these small patterns work together to adorn themselves as a part of the project.

 I used  paper lace doily square to create an envelope. I just  folded the doily paper and I stiffened it with cardboard. I then cut another lace doily paper and this time I kept the pattern inside the square. I colorized it with pastel Brown chalk. To finish I used gesso on the flowers, round silver diamante trim and  iridescent gold paint on the frames to remind me of the gilding of the castle of Versailles and its gardens...

  

What a beautiful card & box envelope - well done Sylvie.  The way you have put so many different papers together is fabulous & each of the embellishments & elements is terrific.

Little Bird Nest - Triptych by Adriana

Adriana explains,

"Hi Everyone, today I have a special little project 

that I have created for

my DT work for Meg's Garden.

It is a Triptych, you may ask

"What is a Triptych?????" it is  pronounced "Trip-tik"

It is a picture or carving on three panels, hinged together vertically and used as an altarpiece but in my case it is an Altered Art piece!

Sister's LOVE- layout by Adriana Bolzon

The story behind the photo.

This photo is of my Great Aunties on my 
mother's side of the the family. 
Taken around 1937.

The one on the far left in the photo, is Iseta, 
she was getting married and was leaving the family 
to live in Roussillon in France with her new husband. 
So this was the last photo of them together, 
she is the only one still living, 
but she now lives in Italy, 
she is now in her 95th year. 
The other two sisters, married as well 
and migrated to Canada with their husbands.

The paper I have used for the background 
is the Dreaming in Willows paper 
from the new paper collection.
 I just love the soft greys and with 
touches of lavendar and white.
I used a leaf Stencil and soft ink on the background

Vintage tags and elements sheets tag, 
Elements paper and an old airmail envelope 
are tuck underneath the layout,
