Hello all, Annette here,
thanks for
calling into Meg’s Garden Blog
Today I’m sharing the journal I
created with the‘Sherlock Book Kit’ designed by Watson
(Kerry-Jean) that is !!!!
this is available in printed or digital version click HERE to view the video release.
MEMORIES
Firstly some directions to form the
basis for my journal:
I gathered various pieces of information
on the net, have combined a mixture of plans & ideas
so to all the journal makers who
have gone before me
'THANK YOU'
I cut the covers (21.5cm x 14cm) & back
spine (21.5 x 5.5cm) using heavy cardboard,
which I then covered in my chosen papers,
wrapping the outer cover over the edges
& then gluing down the inside
covers, leaving space between covers & back spine.
Using empty cardboard centre roll from
hand towel paper for the curved spine
I sliced through the centre longways, then
glued evenly spaced pieces of string & covered,
to form ridges, when all dry sand
& ink & paint inside if desired & set aside till later.
For each my pages cut 2x 21cm x 12cm, 12
pieces in total
fold up 2cm, glue top & bottom,
pages now measure 19x 12 cm
cutting three strips of cardstock 1x18
x 9.5cm, 1x 18 x 7.5cm, 1 x 18 x 5.5cm
Score & fold each strip 2cm each
long side, centre & glue them
wider to narrower with folds all
facing up forming the hinges for the pages ...
Glue to spine... Now to build a
journal ....
I built each double page separately then adhered onto a hinge leaving a
pocket on outside
