Converting A4 Papers to a 12 x 12 Layout

I have always been a 12" x 12" scraper. The thought of scrapping an A4 layout terrifies me (yes, I have tried to, and the results were disastrous!). So, being a scrapper who cannot bear to waste paper, I had to find a solution for all the A4 paper that came my way as a DT member. What's a girl to do? Why, tear the paper into pieces, then add it to a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock. Problem solved!!!

To help the page look cohesive, I added a glittered texture paste image (with a stencil) to the background, and layered paper and coloured lace over the top. The lace has been coloured with Shimmerz Inks, but you can use any brand of spray ink to colour lace.

I have done a lot of fussy cutting from the Ephemera papers to create visual interest on my layout. I am totally in love with these little birds. The chipboard frame has been embossed with an embossing enamel, to create a thick lustrous finish, and then I have added flowers to complete the layout.

A little more fussy cutting of feathers and blossoms to create this accent down the right side of the photo. I have added Kindy Glitz to the feather to add glittered highlights.

I have an addiction to tassels. Is there anybody who doesn't? And Meg's tassels are just too gorgeous - I would use them on everything if I could. Did I mention they come in lots of different colours?

Flowers, flowers and more flowers. Why stick to one type of flower when you can use a mixture - paper, velvet and fabric flowers have all come into play on this layout. And if the colkour doesn't match - change it! That's what mists and paints are for!!!

What's the best way to fill a large empty space? With journaling, of course! I feel like a layout isn't complete unless it has some journalling - after all, aren't we supposed to be recording the stories and moments, not just the images?

Thank-you for stopping by and joining me.

Memories for the book of Life

Hello Mary here to share a layout using the Vintage Journal 03 background Paper , along with images from the Parisian Gardens Cut and Create Sheet.

I have added texture paste through a stencil which I then sponged with  pan pastels to add some colour. I also added stamping and washi tape to my layout. The Remember Sentiment is fussy cut from the cut and create sheet and I shaded it with  Tim Holts vintage photo distress ink. I used mesh ribbon in both coffee and caramel at the bottom of the chipboard circle for texture and interest

I   added the little butterfly filigree charm to the circle vine chipboard piece and sitting at the bottom of my chipboard circle  I have the frog with the horn  , attached to him I have some narrow ribbon twirling down to the key that I fussy cut from the Cut and Create page. These little charms just add that lovely little touch to a layout. The large butterfly sitting on the circle is also fussy cut from the cut and create page ( there are so many beautiful images to choose from ) . I have a piece of cream lace which I think adds to the old world feel of the layout.
The Photo was taken over 37 years ago, I am with some friends and holding my first born. I thought the papers suited this memory I wanted to document and keep .
Thank You for calling by , I hope you find some time to create this week and if you are looking for gorgeous products to do so with , then visit Megs Shop. Everything I have used besides the washi and stamps from my stash and the chipboard circle from A2Z Scraplets can be found at Megs Store.

'LOVE'

Hello Bloggers

Video link:  "LOVE" mini album

A mini album designed to be 'just pretty' - lots of lace, vintage trinkets & ladies.  But is can also have lots of space for photos & memories by replacing some of the ephemera.
Paper collection used is the Spring Pastels Collection - lots of very pretty pastels which are so easy to use.
Cream cardstock & a deep shade of lavender for the cover

I also played with mounting some of the ephemera on pastel colours in order to highlight some of the papers.  The majority of pages were Z-shaped to give lots of room for embellishing.

Bye for now
Meg
