I have always been a 12" x 12" scraper. The thought of scrapping an A4 layout terrifies me (yes, I have tried to, and the results were disastrous!). So, being a scrapper who cannot bear to waste paper, I had to find a solution for all the A4 paper that came my way as a DT member. What's a girl to do? Why, tear the paper into pieces, then add it to a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock. Problem solved!!!
To help the page look cohesive, I added a glittered texture paste image (with a stencil) to the background, and layered paper and coloured lace over the top. The lace has been coloured with Shimmerz Inks, but you can use any brand of spray ink to colour lace.
I have done a lot of fussy cutting from the Ephemera papers to create visual interest on my layout. I am totally in love with these little birds. The chipboard frame has been embossed with an embossing enamel, to create a thick lustrous finish, and then I have added flowers to complete the layout.
A little more fussy cutting of feathers and blossoms to create this accent down the right side of the photo. I have added Kindy Glitz to the feather to add glittered highlights.
I have an addiction to tassels. Is there anybody who doesn't? And Meg's tassels are just too gorgeous - I would use them on everything if I could. Did I mention they come in lots of different colours?
Flowers, flowers and more flowers. Why stick to one type of flower when you can use a mixture - paper, velvet and fabric flowers have all come into play on this layout. And if the colkour doesn't match - change it! That's what mists and paints are for!!!
What's the best way to fill a large empty space? With journaling, of course! I feel like a layout isn't complete unless it has some journalling - after all, aren't we supposed to be recording the stories and moments, not just the images?
