Guest DT post - Mini Album using White Flowers on Green

Hello everyone, it's Patti here coming back for a guest spot on the Design Team.  Meg kindly shipped me off her new collection White Flowers on Green.  It evolved into a lovely mini that I'm just dying to share with you today.

I've added a few bits and bobs from my stash that coordinated well with Meg's papers, like the Eiffel Tower and the metal flowers.  The fan is fussy cut from the paper, pleated and inked on the creases with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  I also used Rustic Glimmer Glam from Tattered Angels on the outer edge.

The clock and lady are both from the collection and I also tucked a butterfly from the butterfly transparency sheet Meg sells in the store .  I love these butterflies!

This is a 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" book with a 2 3/4" spine.  The book itself is created using chipboard with four cardstock pages each sporting a side pocket which holds a tuck in mat measuring 5 1/4"x 7" So lots of room for even your larger photos this time.

There are lots of pockets with tags and mats to house numerous photos and memorabilia.  On the right I've taken the center out of this gorgeous frame from the paper and replaced it with acetate.  I slipped a little place holder behind to show where to put your photo and adorned the space around with lots of fussy cut pieces from the collection.

Butterflies seem to pop out all over these papers from the large one fussy cut from the paper on the left belly band to the acetate on on the right hovering on the frame.

The mats are all cut from a cream cardstock from Spellbinders.  I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists in shades of  Olive Vine, Sun Sisters, Crushed Shells and Baby Girl pink, spritzing until I got the look I liked.  All these colors lend themselves to the gorgeous shades in Meg's papers.  To give the mats a little more eye candy until photos are placed I stamped them with and old flourish stamp from a collection from Kaisercraft called Magic Happens.  Once the photos are down I know you'll only see the borders but it makes it mighty pretty until them or a great background for any spots that are going to just house journaled thoughts.

Because of shipping costs from Australia to the US Meg and I decided to just have her send the papers and not embellishments.  As hard as it was for me not to not get my fingers on some of her store lovelies I did discover I had a whole boat load of embellies tucked away that went well with her collection.  Imagine that I already had things on hand!!!  So here you'll see from my personal hoard, oh I mean stash, I added some Prima flowers, a Webster's resin flower in the middle and a Prima butterfly.  On the opposite page I had found these cool butterfly paper clips.

In amongst all the other goodies I'd stashed away I found these wonderful stickers that my friend Paul DiGiovanni had sent me.  They are the most marvelous find.  They are kind of rubbery and seem to melt into the page and give a wonderful dimension.  I asked here where she'd found them, wait for it, are you ready, yep you guessed it the Dollar Store.  Trust me I'll start looking again but I've never found anything like this at any Dollar Store I've been in.  I love how Meg combined the luscious greens with the pinks and whites such pretty pretty colors to play with.

I hope you'll come join me on the video since there is so much more to show you and I want to share how I did the outside of the book as well.  It was one of those OHHH OHHH moments when I pressed too hard and cracked the spine.  I then had to figure out how to save the book itself. Sometimes mistakes lead to the most wonderful solutions as was the case this time.  I'll share the details on the video.  Thanks for letting me share with you today, and thank you Meg for letting me play with your papers!
