Cards by Brenda

Hello Crafty friends and welcome to Meg's Garden. It has been awhile since I have been able to post here with the beautiful Meg's Garden papers, flowers and many other products. 2017 has been a hard year for my family with my son being extremely ill, my dad have some horrid heart issues and I have been sick as well. It has seen all three of us having throughout the year spending time in hospital.
Meg and the team have been a huge support to me and so understanding. I must say though it was great getting behind the desk and working with the beautiful French Chic Papers.

This is the first of two cards I would love to show you and the products I used to create it.

IRIS FOLDING USING UP MEG'S GARDEN COLLECTIONS

Liz here with you today and a big hello to everyone and welcome to the New Year.

I trust that you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends and ready to start the new year afresh?

As it is still the holiday period, I thought I would share with you a little trick to use up some of your Meg's Garden Collections.  We all have those pieces that we don't want to throw out, so here is a different way to look at them and to create some special cards to give your family and friends.

Iris folding is an easy and lovely way to use up those small pieces of paper that reside in your collections .

Here is a closer look.

For the iris opening in the centre I used a picture from the collection, but you can use anything you wish.

Don't feel that you have to only make 'female' cards, here is an example how you can use 'time Ephermeral' and Cafe au Lait to create a 'gentleman' card.

I hope you have enjoyed our little trip today into the uses of small pieces of papers and that take the time to try this easy technique.
Until next time........happy creations..........love Liz

Gold Tin Journal by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. I have been using Megs Garden Alchemy 101 papers.
I feel they are simply wonderful. There are so many pictures to cut out and use.
Recently my son celebrated his 21st birthday at Luna pack, Sydney.
I wanted to make a keep sake book and tin to store the fun day in.

Megs garden has a lot of metal embellishments to decorate with. Using a tin I already had I glued brass corners and a scroll on the lid. Then using a clock I layered it onto the brass scroll. Layering metal embellishments gives depth to your projects. I glued a small gold photo frame onto the plastic lid.

I embossed gold tin and rubbed the surface with black and blazing red StazOn ink.
The cute lock was glued on to the side.

I made a book using the Alchemy 101 papers and bound it with a metal spiral.

I decorated the pages of the book with the Alchemy 101 pictures.

This is the inside of the tin. I used the Luna park ticket stub and inked the edges to make it look dated. I tried to use pictures and items to represent my son. For example the mini compass shows that he is always off exploring the world.

Thanks for looking at my latest project. Have a happy and safe Christmas followed by a wonderful new year.

Art Journal Album

Hello everyone,
Leanne here to share my latest project an Art Journal Album. I have created this Album from scratch using Alchemy 101 patterned papers & black cardstock. I have kept this project fairly simple. Each page is also a large pocket allowing me to tuck away photos or art project pieces. My album measures 22 x 28.5cm. I have also left a couple of the pages blank, so I can add photos at a later date.

Until next time.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Have a wonderful day & happy creating.

PARIS CHIC ALTERED CHILDREN'S BOOK & CARDS

Hello one and all,

Well it is nearly the New Year and if you are anything like me, a little time on your hands to tackle some new projects.

ALTERED CHILDREN'S BOOK

For you today, I have altered a children's picture book that I picked up at my local 'Op' Shop.  I applied this beautiful Collection 'Paris Chic' mixed  with a few  small elements from other of Meg's Garden Collections,  such as , Watercolours Garden, French Chic, Spring Pastels and Parisian Gardens.
I also added book pages, along with music sheets to Meg's Collections.

For the edges of the book itself I used Atlantic Versa ink, which I always find a perfect match for some of these papers.   To the cut and create items I applied a little Inca Gold to the edges, which gives them a vintage feel.

Finally some well placed doilies and here is the front cover.
Meg's Gardens beautiful ribbon lace with chiffon ribbon, all teamed with  Lock and keyhole.

 CARDS
As you would have noticed in my last month's post, this journal pack is jammed pack with lots of paper, so I set about making up some cards for my stash.

Now for a close up of the special extra ribbons and metal embellishments from Meg's Garden.

Well I hope you have been inspired to get creative over the holidays and remember to 'think outside the box' for altering simple items.
Thanks for taking the time to look and until next time.......Happy New Year  ......Love Liz

Make a Wish...

Hello Everyone,
Bec here, returning with the French Chic Pk.2 Card Artists' Packs/Mini Papers

The script paper was perfect with the Filigree oval from the Vintage Trinkets on Meg's store and the Ivory Mini Rosebuds.

I have taken apart the velvet flower ribbon to make a cluster on top of a semi circle doily
The dusky blues work well together IRL.

This sage green floral PP is so beautiful with the stamping I have added to the white card stock, the sage green organza ribbon worked perfectly to join the two.  The ivory mini rosebuds make up the centre of my bow.

Hope you like this simple elegant cards using the new French Chic collection.

Take care from
