Vintage Notebook

I enjoy recovering and reusing items, either for use with another purpose or simply made into something more decorative to give as a gift.

What started off as a plain and boring, simple notebook, is now a heavily embellished and functional piece.

The cover is decorated with pieces from a few of Meg's collections - a Vintage Journal Card (VJC) from a previous release, Cut & Create elements, and the background piece from the current Mini Junk Journal collection was the perfect fit. All coordinate and compliment each other.

As well as embellishing the covers, inside is not forgotten.

Firstly I decorated with a few more Cut & Create pieces, clustered together. Using one of my favourite mediums, vellum, I created 2 pockets, front and back. Versatile in its practical use, and also translucent so you can still see the decorations - and other goodies you may put inside!

From the new and exciting Mini Junk Journal papers, I created a bookmark, layered with Cut & Create sentiments and topped with ribbon.

To finish, as it is an item that will be handled, I inked all edges to give it an added distressed look, and coated with a sealer to ensure its lasting beauty.

TAG CONCERTINA MINI

Hi, Jacky here. Time for another share.

This share is made using the "Art Tag" cut and create which comes with 5 sets of tags in different colour stories, you also get 2 different types of labels. It's such a versatile kit, especially for a tag lover like me!

I made a tag mini using 4 tags from the brown colour story. I'm a bit of a vintage girl so they are perfect for this project.

I've backed the tags on to some card stock leaving a tiny gap between each tag. I was then able to score in the gaps and fold into a concertina.  On the back side of the mini I've sewn in some pages, these pages are cut slightly smaller than 2 tags laid side by side, but folded down the middle not cut.

Next the fun bit... decorate!

For the decorating I've used some images from the"Spring Flower" cut and create and Meg's "German Glass Glitter" in black.  OMG! for the glitter lover this stuff is amazing!

Anyways, I hope I've given you a little inspiration using some of Meg's beautiful products.

'til next time, Happy Crafting!

BOOK IN A BOX

Hi Everyone. It's Jacky here,

I've been busy again, inspired by some of the lovely metal hardware Meg has in her store. This project is a mini book, just big enough to be stored in an up-cycled box.

The box has been covered with some tea-dyed paper, lightly stamped and embellished with "German Glass Glitter" in Cameo...such beautiful Glitter! and I've used one of Meg's "metal handles" on the lid of the box.

The cover of the book has some more "German glass glitter" and to protect the book corners these "Metal corners" are ideal.

The book has 5 signatures and 2 pocket pages to hold tags and tiny concertina albums.

Throughout the project I've also used "Spring Flowers" Cut and Create digital...I just love this book-in-a-box with the metal hardware and the German glass glitter.

'til next time Happy Crafting!

A Little Vintage Pocket Book

Hello everyone & welcome,

Today I have a mini Accordion Pocket Book that I would like to share with you. I have created this little book using the Shades of Green collection pack available from Meg's Garden online store.

This little book measures 13x13cm. The hard covers are decorated with shades of green patterned paper & images from the ephemera sheets. The inside covers & the accordion spine is made using coloured cardstock. I have inked the edges using Tim Holtz's distress ink: old paper to add a touch of vintage flair.

Seam binding is used as a closure it wraps around from the back and then is tied in the front.
Pretty lace and pictures are added through out.
There are 4 handmade brown paper pockets ready for some special treasures.
You could add a tag or two.

The last page has a tuck.
Here is a picture of the back cover with & without it's seam binding closure. A delightful and simple little book to create. I hope I have inspired you to give this book a try. Don't forget to stop by Meg's Garden store there are lots of lovely paper packs to choose from.

Until next time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope you have a wonderful day & happy creating.
