Trinket Box

I love trying to "think outside the square".

Even though I take great satisfaction in creating beautiful cards, once the event they were given for is over, the cards are placed away.

Why not create something useful and on display throughout the year for all to see? Thus, my inspiration for this box.

How many of us have gift boxes stashed in the cupboard taking up space and gathering dust?! The range of delightful floral pictures and mini paper flowers from Meg's Garden ideally suited my covered trinket box.

Picking various shades of pink, rose, fuchsia and rogue, I covered the box in textured paper and sealed with a paper sealer. The result, although protecting the paper, gave the feel and look of soft doe skin.

Each side of the box is different - a foiled frame with Cut & Create images adorn two sides, the back is an old fashioned crochet doily with a pearl centre. The front of the box features an elegant Vintage Journal Card image, which I have framed in an oval mirror.

The lid was given the same treatment as the box, this time using paper from another of Meg's Garden collections. Fancy cut edges and antique metal corners adorn the lid, complete with a large fabric flower and ribbon bow.

What a transformation!
