Inspired by Lace

Hello Paper Artists

I love laces & was really happy to create this Collection of Papers. The backgrounds are shades of cream with the laces in white or off white.

This card started off to be a journal in lace but was caught up by the sales orders.
The cardstock is ivory & has been cut to 10.25" x 7.25".  The papers have been folded & then glued to the cardstock.

Ivory Lace & a cream 3mm double sided satin ribbon were tied around the centre of the card to create a large bow on the front. An organza & silk flower,  2 small green paper leaves & a word ticket are the only other embellishments.

Inside the card, I have fussy cut around the corner lace & inserted a tag from the Lace Cur & Creates along with a jewel pin.

Inspired by Lace – this one is for the shabby chicers
There are 10 papers 10”x7” designed to be folded or cut in half to create 5x7” pages and 6 A4 papers of Cut & Creates. The papers are done in creams & ivory laces & are perfect for cardmakers as well as additions to a shabby chic journal.

With a paper 10x7" there are many options:
* cut or fold in half to make 5x7" journal pages
* cut strips for layers on cards or journals
* fussy cut the ivory lace pieces for your art project
* cut pieces for cardmaking
* fussy cut & add real lace behind

If you love making Junk Journals or Vintage Art or using Lace, then these papers are ideal & a must to add to your stash.  The designs will inspire you to create in new & different directions & add more ideas to your styles.

The papers are available digitally at https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/MegsGardenPapercraft
Officeworks & other major office supply companies offer print from home options if you do not have a colour printer.

Bye for now
Meg

PS.  Only 9 days left to add to your stash before Meg's Garden shuts sown the physical website - order your embellishments, papers, Meg's Bundles etc now

A Simple Card to beat Covid-19

Hello Paper Artists

I had trouble creating under the shadow of Covid-19
Finally, I decided I was going to win over the virus so I took a piece of cardstock
that was on my work table. found some patterned papers & set to creating.

This is the result:

The cardstock was a cutoff from another project & is pale sage green.  It was too long for the paper so I turned it up & created 2 tags to insert & 2 of the word tickets using the same Iris Blue ribbon from the front. The tags are ready for sentiments or further embellishing.

The paper is a page from the Pink & Green Collection. It did not need much embellishing.
Corners rounded, inked on the edges with green ink & before attaching to the front of the card, a piece of 38mm lace was tied around & the tied in a bow.  Green paper rose leaves, a blue-mauve paper wild rose & Iris Blue double sided satin ribbon tied in a double bow with the ties flowing over the front of the card.

The card worked & I got into the unfinished journal on my table - you have already seen
the video of that.

Whenever your creativity is stuck on a project, put it aside & start a new & easy art piece - do not start with a blank piece of paper - pick up a beautiful piece & go from there.

Folded Surprise

The surprise starts by folding card stock into three, and reverse folding both ends giving a winged effect.

The left-hand wing has pale green damask paper from A Lady's Diary collection as the base, and layers of delicate lace and ribbon over top. Then, a delightfully whimsical image of two ladies in all their finery over the top of the lace.

Finished with vellum overlay and framed in crystal bling with sprays of toning paper flowers.

The right-hand wing was similarly done but used a pearl/crystal frame effect.

Inside the surprise, features the finely hand-drawn image of Paris, with the "marvellous Paris" sentiment. Topped with a stunning metal filigree embellishment and silver diamonte bling, plus doily, complete the centre panel.

The reverse of the side wings again uses the beautiful pale green damask as the base, with cream heavily embroidered edging, topped with cream ribbon and again silver diamonte bling.

Finally, a length of gossamer ribbon adhered to the back of the card, long enough to be tied at the front to hold the card closed for presentation and the perfect surprise gift.
