Spring by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone.
When creating your latest scrap project there will always be left over pieces of pages when its time to clean up. I find it very hard to throw these in the bin so I put them all in a tray knowing they will be handy for a future pages.
Well with such a wet winter the spring here was amazing for my flowers in the garden.
I knew I had paper from Megs garden that would complement pages with them.
So here is a mix up of a few of Megs papers.

The amount of bling I put on this page made it very difficult to get a nice photo. I used Kindy Glitz and Liquid Pearls to high light this lovely lady.

Tearing the edges of the matting around the photos gives another depth to the page.

When using left over paper to make a book it doesn't have to be the same size as the page before.

Adding fold out pages gets the best out of double sided pictures.

Cutting out and gluing part of a see through image , for example the butterfly , makes the image seen on following pages.

I am lucky enough to have a magnificent wisteria like the beautiful papers at Megs garden. They look great together.

On the back page I used a Slide Mailer from Megs Garden. This made a lovely ending for the book.

Thanks for having a look at my book.

TeaTray Water Colour in Blue by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is enjoying Megs "Water Colour in Blue" collection.
My mum enjoys having me and my kids to tea parties. She cooks up a storm and we use tea cups and saucers. When the weather is warmer we go outside to enjoy her garden. The new paper collection gave me a great idea to make a tea tray for her to carry the cakes and cups.
First I found a photo frame which had a nice big border and was about 500mmx400mm.

I then bought two decorative handles. So there was no chance of me breaking the glass while drilling and screwing the handles in I took the frame apart and put the glass aside.

I decorated the black cardboard which came with the frame and then put the glass back in. Using liquid nails I glued the back together and taped over this with a heavy duty material tape to give it strength.

To finish the tray of I decorated one corner with flowers and ivy leaves. I added glitter to the flowers to give them depth of colour.

I was very happy how this tray turned out. The glass makes it easy to wipe any spills.
Have a go at making your own tray. There are many colour papers at Megs Garden to choose from.

Watercolour in Blues mini folded book by Meredith Hilly.

Hello everyone. The project I am showing you today is a mini folded book.
Using a 12x12 page I then gluing another 12x12 onto the back. The 12x12 papers are from the Watercolour in Blues Collection. I then folded this into three even folds one way and then three even folds the other. Each small square is decorated and when folded back up makes a mini book.
This is the front.

This is the back.

This is the first three small squares you see when you unfold it.

This is the next three squares.

This is the mini book totally open.

This is the back totally open. Notice where the front and back cover small squares are. You will need to copy the same placement so you mini book will fold down correctly.

Thank you for popping in and having a look at my mini folded book.
Have a go yourself and find how easy it is to make using all the beautiful papers from Megs garden.

NEW WATERCOLOUR IN BLUES - 3 DISTINCT CARDS by Liz Hocking

Hello Bloggers,
Thanks for joining me today to see Meg's Garden new collection 'Watercolour in Blues'.  This is such a beautiful soft collection, as always and fantastic for making cards, as well as pretty layouts.
For you today, I have chosen to make 3 cards, using the Collection .
I loved using this Collection 'Watercolour in Blues' as the blue is so soft and works well on dark card.
Here is a close up of my first card, which has a 'secret' pop up sentiment card.
For my edging Versa ink 'Atlantic Blue' is a perfect match.
My next card I did a little embossing in silver, which I feel suited the theme I was trying to create.
Meg's Garden doiley, pearls, lace ribbon, and metal emb.
Finally, for my last card, I was given quite a few A4 envelopes, so decided to make some cards to fit. This is the front
and then open.
Well I hope that have enjoyed viewing the new collection and to see more you can follow this link.
