Shell scraps her little girl Evie

Hi Bloggers

Little girls always make for a very pretty page & Shell shows us how she does it.

Shell explains:  'Today I'd like to show you a page I created using some of the gorgeous papers designed by Denise Anne.  Evie just turned 2 last month & I captured some stunning photos of her all dressed up ready for her party. I wanted to use some romantic papers & was thinking of a pink & green theme to match Evie's dress & the garden background. A French Garden collection has a gorgeous colour scheme that suited perfectly. In the end I edited my photo to black & white as it matched the papers better!

I have done some fussy cutting of the flowers & leaves on the French Garden sheet & some of the frames on the Collage Cartouche sheet

I sprayed the lace with some Glimmermist to give it a more vinatge feel rather than leaving it white

To give the chippie frame an aged/vintage look firstly prime the frame with gesso. Once dry use the a cinnamon ink as a base & lightly ink the entire frame
Next take the olive green ink & ink over the top of the cinnamon ink  & use the brown ink & roughly/randomly ink edges. Use the Distress crackle paint over the top for that beautiful textured crackle look

No page is complete without some beautiful floral embellishments! I prefer to use a large flower as a centrepiece so I chose the Princess flower for this & surrounded it with some smaller flowers in complementing colours

A Little Box & Tutorial from Shell

Hi BloggersThere are so many times when we have a beautiful little gift that requires an especially beautiful little box for it.  Shell created this little box for a special Pandora bead  & also showed us how to make our own.

Shell explains:  'Today I'm sharing a tutorial on how to create a cute little gift box. The size is perfect for filling with choccies or for jewellery.
I have made this for my MIL so I can put a Pandora bead in it for her! I wanted a shabby chic girly theme so I have chosen Le Belle Jardin Collection With its beautiful peach/pink colours
Here is what it will look like finished:'

To make this you will need:

Cardstock
X2 sheets pattern paper
ribbon
flower
lace
organza lace motif

1. Cut cardstock 10"X 7.5"
2. Score along the 10" line at
1 1/4"
2"
3 3/4"
6 1/4"
8"
8 3/4"

3. Score along 71/2" side at 2 1/2" & 5"

4. Cut along the second score line along the 10" side to the first score line in the middle. Then cut along to the 1 1/4" line & the other way to the 3 3/4" line. Repeat this at all corners then cut inner corners of the small flaps as shown in picture

5. Place some double sided tape on the small flaps & 2 large flaps (only on one side of box). See where I have marked in pink for tape placement

6. Fold box ends & stick down

7. Fold both sets of inner flaps. Keep the tape on the inside & stick to form inner box

8. Fold up the sides to form the box

9. Time to decorate
X6 pieces 1 1/8"X 2 3/8"
X4 pieces 2 3/8" X 2 3/8"
Ink the edges

Stick to outside of box

Attach lace & ribbon as desired. Just make sure you do not cover the opening with it

10. Cut a strip 1"X11" & wrap it around the box. Make sure it is loose enough to slip on & off then attach the ends with tape

Decorate the band with ribbon, flowers & lace motif

A fabulous little box Shell - well done & thank you so much for showing us how to do it.  There are so many times we need a little box & now we do not have to think about where to get one.  So much more elegant than a little bag.
Doing the tutorial on the board was particularly helpful in being able to visualise the dimensions.

A List of Inspiration from Vicky

Hello Bloggers

'Happy New Year! Vicky blogging today. First up is a card I made to MYSELF

I used a beautiful paper from Meg's Garden "The Spring Paisley" collection and I attached a transparency butterfly with clear dots and some pretty flowers with glue.

My list is actually inside the card and with an extremely personal top 5 things I need to work on. I plan to keep this card sitting on my home desk to remind me each day of the important life goals I have set for myself.'

Fabulous list Vicky - well done
An inspiration to all of us. Thank you so much for sharing it with us

'Unlock the Window to your Soul' by Jen

Hi

Jen has been super busy creating this awesome artwork.  She proves she is a lady that loves the dimension in a project

The chipboard & the hardware combined with the delicate lady on the brickwork is amazing;  the colours on the background create so much dimension; the 2 flying birds create action.  I love the way the light plays & changes the colours.
Well done Jen - a fabulous creation to inspire us in the New Year - totally love this awesome piece.

Jen starts the New Year for us

Hi

After all the fuss of the holiday season, the fancy foods & wines & the stress of websites being down & support staff being useless, it is a pleasure to step into a new month of a New Year.

The Christmas projects have been put away for several months & the Design Team ladies are showing us this month some new & very elegant projects from some of the Denise Ann's collections - they are all in really gorgeous pastels & Jen starts them off with an extremely elegant wall hanging -
she explains it:

'I have made this wall hanging for a Christmas Present

using the background Paper from MEGS GARDEN

Nesting (P6301) - I totally love that they have the extra stip

down the bottom which allows my 3D Demon loose to add

extra flowers and birds etc from the paper set !

The Image is from the (amazing) Forget me Not Collection

this is the Elements 1 sheet (1083)

I have also used the Bridal Veil (DA805) and Cornsilk flowers  (DA806)
and those cute little leaves (DA810) all available from Megs Garden

The clock and the Butterflies are from Dusty Attic and

that very yummy frame is from Moulds by Mel

I have an ATC Mailer (from Megs Garden) to share soon

along with some layouts

 Luv Jen xox'

This is a very beautiful wall hanging Jen - I am sure the recipient was totally pleased with it - Well Done!
I love all the embellishments, lace & the fussy cut elements.

Denise Ann is polishing the last details of her new collection which should be released this month
