Adriana loves flowers & shows us how to arrange a collection of them on this gorgeous hanging & on the LO.

Adriana explains her projects:

'Since May is the month that we celebrate “Mother’s Day”, I thought it would be a great opportunity to pay tribute to our wonderful Mother’s & Mother-in-Law’s.

So I have made two projects.

First is a TRIO MINI CANVAS hanging. These canvases measure each 10 cm x 10 cm, and they look quite lovely attached together with ribbon and hanging on a wall.
I used the word LOVE & Forever, because a Mother’s Love is always treasured forever.  Using the lovely image from the Elements paper collection and the gorgeous fabric flowers available from Meg’s Garden.

First I painted the canvases with slate colour paint, then decorated with papers from Meg’s garden – Mini Forget me Not collection.Then decorated with all the beautiful blooms available from Meg’s Garden website.

My second project is a tribute to my Mother-in-law. I just loved this photo of her. I think it was taken around the late 40’s, at the end of the World War II.

Two really gorgeous projects to celebrate Mothers - each of the projects has very similar products but yet they end up so different.

They are so beautiful Adriana - love the way you have arranged the flowers. The different blues & creams on the hanging are divine - the laces, jewel pins are such elegant elements - the tassels a fabulous finishing touch. The hanging has so many different colours in it;  from the papers to each of the flowers, tassels & laces & they blend so well.

The little touch of garnet on the LO is just so special & just picks up the entire LO. The German scrap border & the lace doilies are really fantastic - the different flowers work so well - the LO is a superb tribute to your beautiful mother-in-law - what a smile!

Heather's Layouts are always 'fabulously interesting'

Have a look at each of the elements to this LO to see why I call them that:

the layers of papers, adding the rust, fussy cutting, the distressing of the edges,

the detail on the edges of the background,

the curls on the papers, the 2 orange/rust brads in the left corner & the clock behind & in front

 - the elements are 'fabulously interesting' & work so well together

‘Hi there everyone..

Wow, I had such fun creating this page .. I used the beautiful “ Birds in Forget me Nots” paper range,  THIS PAGE  FLOWED TOGETHER BEAUTIFULLY & VERY EASILY , ( love it when that happens ) the papers are just delightful to work with, and adding a touch of “ rust”  just makes it pop !!!  these are Perfect papers  for a vintage page with fussy cutting and distressed edges -  After fussy cutting the flowers I lightly inked the edges with black Versa colour ink, just to add definition… I inked the chipboard with Versa colour  ‘Polar blue’

My handy tip  -  layering the papers and adding a light touch of ink on the edges creates texture and   dimension, giving depth to the page.

'Summer at Last'

Eila presents her LO that she calls 'Summer at Last' and has the following to say:

'It was instant love when I saw the Forget Me Nots Fabric paper. It brought back memories of my childhood summers in Finland, a seemingly endless row of sunny days. The covers of my grandfather's mattresses had an almost identical pattern, only they were in a pale blue and white pattern.

The photo is from internet but it has all the trimmings of the carefree childhood that I remember; the old red wooden houses so typical of northern parts of Sweden and Finland. They wild meadow that has been left to grow, the bare feet and the white cotton summer dresses that I had as a little girl.

The elegant grey of the paper can be combined with practically any other colours, I chose orange for its sunshiny qualities. The trims are just adorable and so wonderful to use as decoration instead of lace or ribbon.

The red roses/yellow rose buds/blue bells and the mushrooms are cut out from some pieces of scrap from older paper collections that I had sitting on my desk. The whimsical and darling details add a charming feel to the clusters. The fussy-cut butterflies are from the same Fabric's paper, absolutely adorable.

The photo is matted in the stripey Birds paper that I also punched with a delicate lacey border.'

 

What a beautiful summer LO. Love the orange flowers & the additional touches of red, yellow & blue colours; look at the tickets to Hillside Farm & the framed 'hope'.  Absolutely love the bird & the butterflies just hanging out at the edge of the LO;  you can almost smell the scent of the grass. As we go into winter here, we are all remembering summer & cherish the warmth of the sun on beautiful days

Friendship Garden

Adriana is still playing in her papercraft garden & presents this beautiful layout:

Adriana explains her layout: 

'This layout is called, “Friendship Garden”

The poem reads,

“The heart is a garden

That always has room

For the flowers of kindness

And friendships that blooms.”

I just loved this poem, not sure who wrote it.

When I saw the delightful vintage images of girls in the garden, I knew I had to create something with them. I wanted to create a garden with the girls, who look like they are best friends.

Also I wanted to showcase the wonderful new papers ‘Forget me Not’, all the blooms are from the paper range.

The paper I used to create the borders of these two layouts are the “Butterflies & Blue Forget me Not” P6304 12 x 12 with the addition of a strip 4 x 12.

You will need two of the sheets to create 4 sided border.

Velvet flowers and paper flowers, leaves, paper gardenias, vintage lace

Other materials used:
Imaginarium designs chipboards vine & gate window.
Gold glitter stickles, May arts vine ribbon,

A very beautiful papercraft garden Adriana - love all the fussy cutting of the flowers with the embellishment of additional paper flowers & the border; love the addition of the burgundy highlghts & the background panels. Love it all.  Well done

Where do I start in commenting on this LO?   The collection of both paper & velvet flowers is an exquisite choice on this paper; the fussy cutting of the paper is fabulous;  the framing of the LO using paper;  look at the three dimensional butterflies & how they are scattered as if they are flying around the garden with one very beautiful butterfly framed on the side with a chippie frame.  Simply divine.

Variations on the Little Book by Charlotte

These 2 projects were designed by Charlotte to show how 1 design can be changed.
The 1st little book used Graphic 45 papers, lace, ribbons & femininity; shades of apricots, laces & pearls & little velvet flowers.

These little booklets are perfect places to use those little scraps of paper that are too good to throw away - they are perfect embellishments - tear them & distress the edges.

The 2nd little book uses rub ons & variety in ribbons - it is less feminine feel than the first book & could very easily become a masculine book with a slight variation in embellishing.

Neither of these books have journaling or photos but are shown so that you can see how 1 design can be changed dramatically to suit the purpose of the project - the booklets can be a fabulous alternative to a card:

• a thank you for a special dinner with photos inside
• a new baby
• mothers day luncheon or a fathers day BBQ
• christening or graduation
•  and many more ideas ....
