Adriana uses the new Christmas papers

Hi

Adriana has created a fabulous layout using the new papers & she calls is 'Winter Wonderland'

'Winter Wonderland – Merry Christmas layout

Adriana says, “In Australia when we celebrate Christmas time we are in our summer. Usually our Christmas time is spent going to the beach, having BBQ’s, eating seafood, relaxing with friends and family. But in the northern hemisphere Christmas is celebrated in the middle of their Winter. Lots of snow, cold temperatures but it is a beautiful sight. One day, I would like to experience a wonderful White Christmas. I created a page showcasing the new papers Designed by Denise Ann and available from Meg’s Garden.

This new paper collection is called “Musical Christmas”

So rich in colour, with accents of blue, gold and white.

The background paper is “Plum Pudding” and the banner words are from the small strip that comes with the

“Noel Noel” paper. Using the German scrap border to decorate the edges and photos, they just highlight the colours in these gorgeous papers.

I just love that song “Winter Wonderland” so I printed the words of that song and included them on my layout.

Thanks for looking.'

Materials used from MEG'S GARDEN.
Plum pudding paper P6330
Christmas berry paper P6329
Noel Noel paper P6325
German scrap- white fancy border
Velvet flowers- Viola Posy Lilac pink Va350
Green holly leaves
Duchess Jewel Pin P136

Other materials: Distress inks, grape card stock. Glitter, diecuts, white cardstock

Fabulous layout Adriana - well done
Love the gold highlights on the fruit;  the die cut snow flakes are gorgeous - love the combination of the gold & white.  The white german scrap accents the rich & deep tones of the papers extremely well.

Having lived in the winter snows of upstate New York for many years, I can advise that the snow is not fun. Blizzards closed the City down for days several times with non emergency traffic not allowed; the Army reseerves were called in twice to clear snow; I can remember driving home on the expressway at 15 mph following the car in front (all traffic with emergency blinkers on) & hoping that he was on the road & could see in front - not fun at all. Supermarkets were closed!
Do not miss it - I still will not wear boots - they are reminders of having to & they were not cute boots.

Bye for now

Moments by Yuka

Hi
This is the last project that Yuka is presenting to inspire us - her term on the DT is expiring & she is moving on.

Yuka explains:

'I made a layout by using the Spring Paisley papers. I love the colors of this collection! I also used Meg's Garden's product "Lace - 1.6cm white"(L2920). I made this layout based on the sketch of Colorful Creations as a guest designer.

This is my last work for Meg's Garden. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to make my work with your beautiful products!

Yuka Hino

She finishes with a serious layout - several pieces of the Spring Paisley Collection of papers, fussy cutting of the skeleton leaves & some gorgeous flowers.

Love the lace used as a frame for the photo - well done Yuka.

Thanks you so much for being part of our Team of Design ladies - you have created some very beautiful projects & inspired us with your creativity.  We all wish you well.

Kirigami boxes by Vicky

Hi

'Kirigami box and card sets.

I created these pretty little kirigami boxes and cards using the brand new Spring Paisley collection. As we enter into Fall in North America, our friends "down under" are luckily in Spring time mode.

I heavily embellished this project with Green Tara products. Meg's Garden carries many Green Tara items so check out the store at http://megsgarden.com. Here is a close-up of of one of the gift set that I played up the peach and cream in the paper.

Here is a close-up of where I brought out the darker red and pink in the paper. Loads of  glue holding this project together!

The great thing about kirigami boxes is that they are just as pretty on the inside. Since they are folded, it means they are sturdy too due to several paper layers. My tutorial on how to create these boxes can be found archived on my blog at http://simplypaperandcreativity.blogspot.ca/2011/07/kirigami-box-tutorial.html

Thanks Vicky - they are so beautiful - well done

Scrapping her Mother's Life

Hi

Sandie shares some of her Mother's life with us using these 2 very beautiful layouts.

"Dream"

'At the moment I am working on scrapping my Mothers life, this paper collection works perfectly for the photographs I have to work with.  My layout consists of the beautiful paper range called "The Spring Paisley Collection.  I really wanted to use several of the papers in the collection, so opted for the wall-paper look, separated by beautiful, guipure lace.   The paper 'Spring Paisley Collage' was perfect for die-cutting circles to add to the layout, teamed with some gorgeous blooms!  '

The Spring Paisley Paper Collection
- Pale Green Paisley P6321
- Green Paisley Stripes P6314
- Spring Paisley Collage P6320

"Sweet 16"

'Another layout of my Mother, at the age of 16 wearing her first special occasion dress.  My second layout is based on Green Paisley Toile paper, from the 'Spring Paisley Collection', teamed with matching cardstock.  I built up layers using the various sized lace doilies available from Meg's Garden - sprucing them up with spray of Glimmer Mist, and touch of Distress Inks in various shades - really made them shimmer beautifully.  I used various elements from other papers in the collection to fussy cut elements and add around the edges of the doilies. '

Beautifully done Sandie - the flowers, pearls & papers are perfect for the photos

Teacups by Chantal

Hi

Chantal has a beautiful little girl called Heidi & she shows some pics of Heidi in this fabulous LO
using the new Spring Paisley Collection
'My layout is called "Teacups" and it's a girly one ;)...

I have used the delightful brand new line of patterned papers from Meg's Garden; "The Spring Paisley Collection".  The papers I've specifically used are Spring Pink Toile and Spring Green Toile.  I've fussy cut around Spring Pink Tolle to make a frame and I've trimmed Spring Green Tolle a little to show a little cardstock underneath which has had it's edges dry-brushed with brown acrylic paint.  I think these two papers work so well together.

I love how Meg's Garden patterned papers come with an extra skinny sheet to work with.  Instead of using these for fussy cutting in this instance, I have actually layered three of them together.  The green strip has been cut in half and separated to give the illusion that it's bigger - so it pokes above and below the pink strip.

Here's another detailed shot, so you can see my paintwork, machine stitching and fussy cutting - all techniques that lend themselves so well to this beautiful range...'

What a fabulous LO Chantal - well done.  You have a perfect little model in Heidi.
I am loving the layers & how you combined the 2 papers - beautiful

Kind regards
Meg

A Perfect Day

Hi

Gayle says she  'loved using the new Spring Paisley Collection, so fresh and pretty.'

Layout:
'A LO page using The Spring Paisley Collection. I have lightly gessoed over the background paper and used lots of fussy cut details, along with some stamping and embossing.
PAPERS:    "Pink Eau de Lavande", "Pale Pink Paisley", and "Pink Paisley Flourishes" all from the new Spring Paisley Collection.'

Card & Envelope:

MATERIALS USED: PAPER "Spring Paisley Collage" and "Spring Paisley Toile" from the Spring Paisley Collection
WHITE PAPER ROSE
JEWEL PIN

Love both of these projects Gayle - well done.
The light layering of gesso on the background paper to the LO has created a very unique texture. Love the fussy cut elements from the Paisley paper.

The card with its matching envelope is so elegant & a gorgeous gift to someone special
