"Come fly with me" off the page project.

Forgotten Meadows-Come fly with me by Meredith Hilly

Hello everyone, the forgotten meadows papers was a beautiful range to work with and I knew straight away that there was a lot of fantastic projects I could do which excited me. I decided to complete an off the page project (my personal favourite), a hot air balloon.

I choose various 6"x6" paper from the Forgotten Meadows range to cover the balloon. I spent a long time deliberating over which papers to use, I cut a range of different strips and lay them out next to each other. There were so many sweet combinations! The large pink flower at the top of the balloon was sprayed with Zazz glitter in 'Crystal' and was used to hide the paper joins and attach the pink ribbon handle which the balloon hangs from.

At the bottom of the balloon I used a thick band of lace to create a border and add elegance. The lace border worked well to blend with the papers I used in the basket.

A delicate pearl sting attached the basket which I covered in 6"x6" Forgotten Meadows paper and used liquid pearls in 'Orchid' to create texture. The lace on the bottom of the basket reminded me of little sand bags, so sweet!

The embellishments on the hot air balloon consisted of a white and lavender flower sprayed with Zazz glitter in 'Crystal', green leaves and spiralled green wired paper. My lovely husband found me the perfect feather to complete my project- he is such a big support.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my project.
