Fairies in the Meadows

Hello Bloggers

I cut out all the papers from the Forgotten Meadows book kit & made up the book with black cardstock for the pages using the stack the deck method & then attached the patterned papers I wanted to use for the book.

After several days of agonizing on what style I was going to use, I found some fairy papers in my stash that should have been in the 'To File" stack ( a common occurrence here in my work room).  There was my solution - not vintage, not really pretty, definitely not grunge - but fairies. I also had some fabulous fairy quotes that I decided to use as well as some new in stock 'Vintage Batik Daisies' that were in delicate pinks & greens but not enough colour to define those colours in the book.

This is the result:

Cover of book with invitation the the fairy ball double mounted, a vintage batik daisy, green leaves, a transparency butterfly & a jewel pin

The Invitation

Inside cover & page 1 using Watercolour Fairies #3352 mounted on lavender cardstock to highlight the wisteria,

page 2 embellished with a butterfly charm, a fairy quote, white puffy rose & some green leaves

page 3 is embellished with another 2 quotes & a heart charm tied with ribbon

page 4 features a fairy form Little Garden Fairies #3350, another fairy quote, a puffy white rose (distressed to add some colour) & leaves

page 5 uses a fairy from the same paper - this one is double mounted to highlight the roses on the paper

A Fairy Spell from Lady Cottington's fairy book - also double mounted to show up the beautiful pink roses on the paper.
Lady Cottington's Book is an absolute must for lovers of Fairies

Magical Fairy Dust is an absolute necessity for any Fairy Book

page 8 has a little book shut with tiny magnets, embellished with another Vintage Batik Daisy

Inside the little book

Page 9 uses ephemera from the book kit tucked into a black cardstock flap embellished with off white lace

page 10 has 2 fairy quotes & a transparency butterfly

page 11 uses several of the book kit ephemera distressed & torn on the edges tucked into a black cardstock flap the length of the page; another transparency butterfly is attached to the page; a vintage trinket cut in half & tucked at the top & bottom of the vintage lady on top of the flap.

Inside the back cover. Vintage corners are used on the front & back covers

Spine of the book - a stip of lace, a vintage baticj daisy & green leaves

back cover - ephemera from the kit & a Watercolour Fairy

I hope you like my little book - you could easily add some photos into the flaps of the fairies in your life.

Some Hints:

Transparency Butterflies:  Bend the sides of the body using a ruler & bone scorer.  Make sure that there is a definite crease. Add double sided tape to the body (size the tape to width & length of the body). Attach to your project. The butterfly will stay with wings ready to fly away.

Puffy flowers:  They are made of paper so they can colour the edges of the petals with distress inks or spray the entire flower.  When using the paper leaves, mould the shape over your finger, pencil or similar object sp that they are not flat.

Bye for now
Meg
