I hope that now all the festivities are over that you will find some time to get your creative juices flowing.  And what better way to start with Meg's Garden brand new collection 'Chantilly Cream'.
For my project today, I have used  'The Chantilly Cream Papercraft Pack' along with the 'Cut & Create' Sheet.

Ribbons, lace, flowers and trinkets all my Meg's Garden and now here is the side and back view.

I then set about making some cards using this wonderful collection.  I am really happy with the end result and hope you are too.

Here are a couple of close ups for you to see how versatile this range is and how well it is suited for your cards.

Chantilly Cream Cards with Flowers

This post really should be called leftovers & mats since I used some of the ephemera that were not used on the Chantilly Cream mini book & created some cards using the Flower ephemera & different mats.

Vanilla bazzill was used, antique linen distress ink & leftovers from Chantilly Cream Papercraft kit - 3 pieces of ephemera featuring cream flowers.

Card no. 1:

The Snowdrops ephemera was mounted on green cardstock & then onto a sage green fibre material.

A butterfly charm, green ribbon & a pearl spray were used to embellish.

Card no. 2:

Was matted on blue/grey cardstock & then onto vanilla bazzill. It was them embellished with a small piece of tattered net, paper rose leaves, 2 blue paper flowers & an antique blue velvet forget me not. A blue ribbon was tied around the front of the card, a piece of dodo wire tucked into the

 flower posy & a ladybird charm added for whimsy.

Card no. 3

Is a tall slim card using the cream roses ephemera matted on sage green cardstock & then onto the vanilla cardstock.  The embellishing is again kept very simple - a cream woven edge organza ribbon, a pearl spray & a heart charm

The 3 cards were made in very little time; they used leftover ephemera, scraps of cardstock in my stash for mats & were embellished very simply.

The ephemera were all printed on a cream patterned background so, when cutting them out, you can use part of the this background as an additional mat - this is what I did with cards 1 & 2; card 3 had none used.

Chantilly Cream Cards

Hello  everyone, Miriam here, and a Happy New Year. 

When I received my parcel from Meg, I couldn't wait to get started. I have made three cards using the Chantilly Cream paper craft pack and the Ephemera.Most of the products used came from Meg's Garden. I loved making these cards and was very pleased with the finished result.

For the flowers I used Heartfelt Creations Die "Arianna Blooms "and for the centre I used Memory Box Die "Cherry Blossom, and edged with Versa Magic.

Made this little envelope with the envelope maker, with a second one to line the inside. White lace from stash.

These tags are from the paper pack. The butterfly has been

 covered with Glossy Accents.

I used Lindy's Midnight Bronze embossing powder on the Eiffel Tower.

A Mini Book using Chantilly Cream papercraft pack

The Chantilly Cream Papercraft pack is a great way to do a mini book kit.

Cut up the papers & ephemera;  then decide on your distress ink, cardstock & tape or glues.

I chose Bazzill Vanilla cardstock, Antique Linen distress ink plus an accordion Book Kit.  The advantages of using the accordion book kit are:

there are 6 accordioned heavy weight papers &

extra heavy 2 covers - no cutting of cardstock, no attaching of papers & then deciding on how to bind them.

There are also disadvantages of this method:

limited to pages that are 12.5cm square & covers 13cm square - your mini book can only be this size.

The Cover of the Book: is covered with Vanilla cardstock & embellished with 3 of the ephemera in the papercrafter pack mounted on cardstock.  The butterfly was chosen because of its colour to highight;  a vintage trinket handle & a mini bottle with a piece of vintage paper inside  were used. A coffee/cream ribbon ties the book closed.

Page 1:  Since the papercrafter pack papers are 13.5 cm square they all need to be cut down.  The strips in the pack & also some of the cut pieces were used on each of the pages of the mini book to create either pockets or bands to hold the ephemera.  Instead of using ephemera you could use photos or you could also use the photos on the back of the cardstock backed ephemera. This page has a pocket to hold the ephemera

Page 2:  has a corner strip with a vintage trinket as decoration holding the 2 pieces of ephemera backed with cardstock

Page 3: The tag is foam mounted & a cut off piece of paper used as  band for the ephemera

Page 4:  Has a strip from the pack of matching paper as a belly band with a vintage trinket

Page 5:  Two pieces of ephemera tucked into a strip on the corner with a foam mounted tag word.

Page 6: has a side pocket with a foam mounted tag

Back cover: is kept simple. Covered with cardstock & a pieces of ephemera

You could also do the other side of the accordion pages - these were done on 1 side only & use it standing open or tied with ribbon (as above)

 - 3 are backgrounds with strips, the other 3 are ephemera

Hope you enjoyed this little book - the ephemera in the pack also include some in a shabby chic style so you can make the book in several different styles

Two cards to share today

Hi Everyone, Trish here today with 2 cards - one from the Dreaming in Lavender collection and the      other with a combo of forgotten Meadows and English Rose garden



The Dreaming in Lavenders card was from some papers I had in my stash,that I really love.

Here I made some fuchsias to match the bluebells on the paper

I moulded some of the flowers that were on the design to pop them a bit

Handmade Notebook from Scratch with English Rose Garden Collection

Hi Meg's Garden Lovers! 

I'm Mabel and I'm back this time round with a handmade notebook that I made from scratch.

The notebook is measuring 4.5 x 6 inches tall with a book spine of 1.5 inches thick. I simply cut 2 pieces of 4.5 x 6 inches chipboards and a 1.5 x 6 inches chipboard for the book spine. 

I choose Meg's Garden's A Bouquet of Roses (P6429) patterned paper from the English Rose Garden Collection as the book cover. All I did was to glue down the chipboards, leaving a small gap in between each chipboard such that I have the space allowance to fold it later. If my description is too vague for you, you can check out a video tutorial HERE! I finished my book cover by using Roses and Lace (P6428) from the same collection in the inner side. 

This is a notebook that I wished to carry it around with me, hence I did not want the front of the cover to be bulky and delicate. I chose to embellish my book cover simply with a round doily as well as some laces.

Moving onto the inserts of the notebook, I had stack of white printing papers measuring 8.25 x 5.75 inches. You need not follow my measurements! I would suggest you choosing the measurements of your inserts and preparing them as your first step. Book cover can be prepared after the inserts are done. 

I grab 5 sheets of papers and fold them into half, forming a signature (a group of pages). I made 6 signatures, washi-taping the folds and started binding.

I'm doing French link bookbinding with hemp cord. As the strings are thicker, it's harder to bind. I would suggest beginners to start with waxed threads. The process might be slightly complicated, hence you can check out the link HERE for more information.

After my inserts are done, I simply glued down the last page to attach the pages to the book cover. I started embellishing the first page by fussy cutting from the French Garden Collection.
