"Rose Quartz" Collection Cards & Tags by Brenda Caldow

Hello crafty friends and welcome to Meg's Garden. I would like to share with you some cards and tags I have made using the beautiful Rose Quarts Collection. I just love this collection, beautiful soft pink colours with white. First I will share with you one of the cards.

As you all know I love to fussy cut and these gorgeous papers are wonderful for that. On each of my cads and tags today you will find fussy cutting.

The elegance of this beautiful period lady is stunning. On the papers you will find different sizes and I love that for fussy cutting. On the edges of my cards I used some Distress Ink and for my center strip I used a punch then inked the edges followed by Liquid Pearls after it was placed on the card. My happy birthday is a WOW Chippie and I used Gesso on it. Over the beautiful Antique Cream Lace I place a Vintage Bronze Tone Trinket. Over the trinket I place the center of a Viola pale pink flower. The flowers I placed beside the card in the photo are some from the posy of Violas.

This is my second card and the rose center of the card has been fussy cut from the papers and you can see it in the picture of the 12 x 12 sheet above. A lot of my fussy cutting has been done from this sheet above (on the right) for the cards and tags. I love papers where you can use them in different ways to help embellish your papers. I always look beyond placing them just as tags etc.

On this card I have used the same ink for my papers and this time I decided to cut the patterned papers into triangles and I distressed the inside edges before inking them. Once I placed them I the card I used a brown journal pen to make stitching on each one. My Happy Birthday is again a WOW chippie and I coloured it with a pink Copic and then added a little Kindy Glitz. The beautiful paper flowers I have added are from the stunning Fantasy Blooms flower packs and you will see these on a lot of my work. They are great and come in 11 different colours. On these I placed a little Kindy Glitz as well. When making this card I was thinking about my mum. I know she would love this one and that is why I added the Kindy Glitz to the flowers. They didn't need it but I knew that mum would like it so on it went.

It is now time for my tags. I have made large tags so they can double in place of a card where you can write a birthday message on the back if you want.

I used a cream lace to create my bow an the top of the tag and also placed a strip of it down the tag. It has an awesome vintage look when placed with these papers. Across the bottom I used a Kaiser wooden flourish and I used Gesso on it the same as the Happy Birthday and then I sponged some of the Distress Ink over it, only very lightly.

Now for my final tag and like the cards and the other tag I have also fussy cut on this one.

The rose scroll at the top, three period ladies and the bottom and the posy of flowers and leaves have all been fussy cut. The Wooden flourish at the bottom and the bird cage have all been coloured with a pink Copic. I have used a strip of the beautiful Antique Cream Lace down the side. I just love the way this lace with these papers gives it a real vintage feel. On the birdcage I placed a small and very cute Brass Butterfly. At the top I used a wine white ribbon which I tied in a double bow. At the bottom I used two of the Velvet Viola Flowers Pink from the posy.

I hope you have enjoyed popping into Meg's Garden and have a look at my cards and tags. I also hope that I have been able to inspire you with my creations an maybe into some fussy cutting, one of my passions. Please keep scrolling down and have a look at what the other DT ladies have created. There are so many different beautiful creations, techniques and styles.
Until my next post may your mojo flow and I look forward to seeing you again.
Hugs Brenda xxx
